I think that point is critical - I expect most people get as annoyed as I do when a character does something obviously and massively idiotic or irrational just to push the plot where a writer has decided it needs to go.

All of these details about the decision making behind the scenes are tremendous. I stopped watching s1 with 2.5 episodes left and I just jumped into s2 without finishing those and I don't feel like I missed anything that doesn't get touched on.

Probably for the best as whereas before that last 1/4 would have rather pissed you off, now you can just go directly into Season 2.
