It was a reference to SPACED, the show Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright did prior to this. Two of the other group were fellow cast members.

Zombieland: We Double Tapped But Ran Out Of Ideas

Now playing

That “Bizzaro zombie apocalypse survivors” bit was done in Shaun of the Dead.

When the first one came out I took my girlfriend to see Zombieland and she had no idea who Bill Murray was. We ended up breaking up later that night due to other reason but I should have known something was up when she asked who the ghostbuster guy was.

Actually still in use for suicides in the workplace

Most likely common technology to go obsolete during my lifetime: Magnetic storage. I just built a new desktop PC last week with a pair of 1TB M.2 SSDs, and once I get stuff transferred off the hard drive from my old desktop I expect that I won’t be using a hard drive at all in this system. For the time being hard

I actually watched this happen (in the USA) literally before my eyes. There was a pretty brisk business here for “photo labs” in various shapes. Most of them would allow you to drop off your rolls of film and pick up your photos an hour later. The business itself was centered around a machine or two that automated the

Apparently, the imagination has become obsolete. Most of these guys are going on and on to basically say “I don’t know” or “people in past have been wrong, so I’d rather not embarass myself”. Or maybe, you guys just phrased the question wrong. “Obsolete” might not be the right word, because as pointed out multiple

My choice would be one mentioned by Peter Norton in the original article as a failed prediction from the past.

TL;DR:

Low hanging fruit: whatever new service Google’s peddling at the moment. They'll find a way to Axe it after not advertising it and then complaining about the lack of users in 6 months.

<sad> Automotive manual transmissions... </sad, oh well>

That was a fucking ride. I felt like I had a stroke about halfway through it because I couldn’t fathom an answer from a supposed expert being so meandering and off-topic.

Next time somebody asks me for a business forecast I think I’ll spend four paragraphs pondering the philosophical definition of the word “demand”

It’s not an aversion to “complexity or nuance.” It’s an aversion to aimless rambling. Almost every one of those quotes takes 2-3x as long to get its message across as it needs to. The first one for example spends ike 4 paragraphs pondering “WHAt Is oBSoleScENce, ReaLlY?” instead of actually answering the damn

It’s more none of the answers even tried to be creative.  No one tried to think outside of the obvious.  It was more a quick response from your professor that isn’t really helpful or insightful...

So... everyone dodged the question.

I’m hoping it’s social media.

Peter Norton’s ability to answer the question being asked of him? Oh wait...

Yes.

I’ve got a feeling humans are going to become Obsolete in my lifetime
