You weren't kidding.

And KISS from the Love Gun album cover.

This got me thinking about easter eggs in other album art. The only one I can remember is R.E.M.'s Green, the glossy 4's superimposed over the R's. Not too long after that album came out, I was able to ask the assistant engineer about it and he told me Stipe had a dream that the world had replaced R's with 4's.

You'll only spend about two weeks looking like a goddamn moron, tilting your head up and down trying to get things to focus until you get used to them.

Totally forgot about Red Dog! That was the one where you turned the logo upside down and it looked like Batman giving someone head, right?

The MIB said he opened up an older version of Teddy once and he was full of perfect little pieces, not that the hosts are now. In fact, during that same conversation, he asks Teddy if he knows why the hosts are made of flesh and blood now. (The answer is that it's cheaper.)

I had a friend in college who drank Schaefer by choice. He sent them a glowing fan letter once and they responded with a shitload of swag: a beach towel, giant inflatable can, coasters, koozies, a T-shirt, and I forget what else. Probably the only fan mail they ever received.

That 120 minute IPA is like bourbon. In a good way.

But can we all agree that sour beers are complete bullshit?

What the fuck, no Schaefer?!

I bought the new Fire HD 8 a couple of months ago and was very pleasantly surprised. It's pretty damned snappy, and for $90, you can break it or leave it on an airplane and not want to kill yourself. And if you know where to look (shhhh), installing Google Play and all the apps Amazon doesn't offer is a snap.

They made four, but In Space isn't mentioned in polite society.

It leaves a few songs off, but I'm partial to the test pressing. Omnivore released a limited edition replica a few years ago, but you can approximate the track list in iTunes with the Rykodisc version.

Progress!

I've probably told this story here before, but a few years ago, my son was taking guitar lessons at the local music store. (I live in Memphis.) To kill time, I chatted up the luthier and learned that he had very briefly played in Big Star! (He's mentioned in Chilton's bio, in fact - a guy named Evan Leake.) Turns out,

Speaking of "Holocaust," I was very surprised to learn in Chilton's bio that he, um, borrowed the music from Yoko Ono's "Mrs. Lennon." Still a great song, of course.

Will there be actual superheroes on this network television superhero show? Or will it be more glimpses of Thor's hammer?

Hmmm, I see what you mean. Although, Logan did tell William there are no photos of Arnold and no one knows what he looked like.
