Quickly finished Bob Mehr's excellent book about the Replacements, Trouble Boys, then jumped right in to Augusten Burrough's Dry. Also concurrently reading The Art of Charlie Chan Hock Chye.
Huge and prominent, and very likely empty.
It's excellent and moves along at a brisk pace, mostly broken down by album once the band gets going.
I would say a lot of regret by the time Paul was embarking on his solo career. The Replacements wanted to have their cake and eat it too, and, unfortunately, the music industry doesn't work like that. You don't get to be as successful as R.E.M. - which they whined about frequently - without bending over for the Man.
