And here I thought this was going to be about the first generation electric power steering pump recall I just received a letter about. First they extended the warranty on it, now it’s officially being recalled. Tough week for them.

We have both a Mini and a bugeye WRX, so this all amuses me. My only oil change screw up was on the WRX. A Subaru dealer didn't replace the crush washer because a customer complained about the $1 part required by Subaru. Obviously didn't take it back after my drain pan plug was dripping oil.

The 3.0L fix is an ECU reflash, not a new catalytic convertor. At least according to the linked Jalopnik article and Automotive News.

I’d also like to know that. Our new Q5 TDI should have been delivered next week. Still sitting in Germany according to the dealer. That’s all they know, too.

So the Papa John’s couple probably confused Papa John’s with Papa Murphy’s Take N Bake pizza. They’re not that much alike besides the name. In my hometown the locations for both franchises seem to be just down the street from each other (or even across the street) which can be confusing for some people.

The only time my car did over 1000 miles in a year while I was living in DC was driving halfway across the country in back one time. Otherwise it was yearly oil changes and trying take it out at least twice a month. It probably would have been driven more but I walked to work and had off street parking.

Is it different than the US 540i Sport? They made 250 of those. Still a cool, rare BMW.

Probably? It has equal length runners, made for a Garrett GTX2867R, which puts out a lot more heat than the stock turbo, especially at the boost levels they were using. If I remember correctly they were getting ~400+hp out of the 2.0t with 93 octane. It is probably the best available material for the application,

APR used to make an exhaust manifold for the 1.8 turbo Audis made of the stuff.

Try the dual 28 band Rockford Fosgate EPX2 in my old Saturn SC2. Custom trim for the underside of the armrest lid to fit the controller. Wish I’d taken pictures of that install. I also wish I could have gotten ahold of the time alignment module for it.

As the owner of a first-gen new Mini I am not at all surprised by that.

My first thought was how shitty cycling on a slick surface is in the rain, followed by the fact that concrete and asphalt handle live loads well and solar panels don’t. Just as a road surface it doesn’t make sense at all.

Because GM can’t remember the Quad 4 or Saturn I4, two decent four cylinder motors they made. Then again most Camaro owners I run across were old enough to own an original in high school and I doubt they remember those engines either.

Jeep did it right in the new Cherokee. You can see the pressure at all four wheels. With screens standard now I’m not sure why more cars can’t do this It was especially handy since it was a rental in NH and the right rear tire was 10 psi too high.

I love our 2004 Mini’s interior. Having the navigation system eleviates the issue with the center moute speedo and the auto up window mod made it so I don’t hate the window switches being so far apart as much as I used to.

The figure used as median household income by HUD and DCRA was $107,000 in 2012. Other places report the metropolitan statistical area median income as $90,000. I don't know where Pew gets their numbers because using their own source (2013 American Community Survey) the figure is $90,149 for a household (which is what

Andy Wilman is rumored to be leaving too. Him and Clarkson basically wrote and ran the show, so it's a bit more complicated than just three presenters needing to be replaced.

I used to be annoyed by that too, but I know a lot of younger people with issues that aren't as overt as a wheel chair or prosthetic leg that legitimitely need a handicap placcard. At least there is something that shows legitimate need unlike people masquerading their therapy dogs as service dogs.
