It’s kind of an unavoidable side-effect. Being verified implies you’re important enough to need verification, because if you’re an unimportant rando it wouldn’t matter if someone was impersonating you.
After blocking the bot that outed Nazis, I’m now convinced Twitter is doing this intentionally. Twitter is an awful company, run by horrible people, and the world would be better off without it.
