I went to a different private elementary school in Brookline, one that did not do shitty things to disabled children. When my school had a deaf student, they had his interpreter give sign language lessons to his entire class. Because if your lesson plan does not include disabled children, it is a shitty lesson plan.

Not only that, if/when (seems more like a when to me) Harper becomes a wildly successful and famous [insert career here] and wins a prize in her field I hope she calls out this school for not accepting her because of her disabilities.

Please oh please tell me she reported this to someone?

Okay so the school “concluded that Harper required additional accommodations that would have fundamentally altered our educational model.”

Aimee, isn’t this private school fulfilling the original intention of private schools since inception?

Segregrate the undesirables from the “good kids.”

Wow. That’s one of the most clear cut cases of discrimination I’ve read about in a long time. Did the school not even bother to consult a lawyer?
