Oooh oooh, I got it. I got that reference. ;)

"There will be asses everywhere" *click click clickclickclickityclick*

What you did there. I see it. *snert*

Yeah, but I'm a Gen-Xer ;) I just felt like she was dismissive in a way that didn't allow for any civil discourse. You can be a by the rules leader, but you don't have to be a dick about it.

I sadly have to agree with you. I can only name about three or four truly *superior* leaders I've worked with. My current Commander is one of them.

Oh god yeah. One small company I used to work for gave out bonuses and had potlucks and such, just really seemed to appreciate what we were doing. If my boss asked me to stay, you bet I did, because I knew that it was recognized and appreciated.

Very far. The O-5 we had that recently left was a doozy. And by a doozy, I mean he was a total twat. He came from the Pentagon, so everything was a dog and pony show for him. He didn't give a shit about substance, just wanted style. There were so many complaints about how he would go through people's work stations

He's correct in my opinion. I don't recall anyone coming out of basic missing the same upstairs equipment they went in with. I didn't, my brother didn't, the guys I work with didn't. If you are weak willed and easily led, I could see it. Basic training was a just the challenge that tempered what was already there.

Mmmmm, gonna have to respectfully disagree. Poor leadership from a superior can lead to a degradation of unit cohesion, especially from officers who refuse to respect their Senior NCO's guidance. If you have an incompetent leader that you HAVE to take orders from, that can get people killed as well. Superiors aren't

Thank you! The urban fantasy/horror genre is kind of played out (with the exception of Dresden and Mercedes Thompson, of course) and it's been kind of a drag to go to the bookstore lately. This gives me hope!

Why wouldn't you be? That dolphin sex story was magical.

"....the baby who had been so excited by the beautiful azure waters of the Pink Flamingo Resort in Santa Rosa that he had immediately dropped all of his children off to enjoy the cool, fresh liquid as well."

You should have bought it for your best frenemy and told them, "Don't think of the repellent texture, think of it as a loving gift of leprosy."

I think at one time that kind of work ethic would have been appreciated. Not so much anymore, now they'll see you as a sucker.

What the actual fuck? I keep thinking that I am going to far when I start thinking about a bloody revolution, but it has gotten to the point where corporations openly pride themselves on fucking over the wage slave. Where you gain bragging rights for making entire families struggle just to stay afloat, and then

Was it like a magical rainbow?

Whoa, back up, I was defending you. Jesus. Talk about a reading comprehension fail. Did you fail to see where I said "you're right" and "you didn't deserve that" and then went on to expand on why the other posters were wrong?

Two things: 1) they are lucky one of the horses didn't kick them right in their prancing faces and 2) that is one impressive moose knuckle.

You don't deserve it for saying that it's wrong and I'll keep saying it. I am a victim's advocate and the stories I hear from men returning from prison make me want to weep. I understand the necessity of punishment for violent offenders, but that shouldn't be part of it. You treat them like animals, you get animals.

I'm not defending this dirtbag, but if we cheer for prison rape for the violent offenders, then we are also cheering rape for non violent offenders. It just doesn't tickle my funny bone at all.
