Hey, you filmed one of my farts.
Hey, you filmed one of my farts.
Looking forward to watching this, once the strikes are over and we resub to Netflix.
When I saw SPECTRE at the Cinerama Dome, Nolan was there with his family sitting in the front row. Afterward he had a distinct “I could have done better than that” expression on his face.
Like that old saying, “You can’t swing a lightning rod without hitting a dead cat.”
The A-listers should enroll some of the makeup designers (who also aren’t working, even if they’re not on strike) to disguise them so that they can still be on the picket line (every individual body on the line makes the line stronger) without drawing undue attention.
You might be right; but there’s lots he could be doing behind the scenes (and might be, but might not be, I don’t know) that wouldn’t cause that kind of public distraction. SAG-AFTRA has a strike fund to help support its members while they can’t work, and Cruise could probably triple the size of that fund without…
He would be forced to dry his tears with the literal billion dollars he has.
I mean, the people doing the labor deserve a fair share of the money, even if it’s cultural garbage like personality-based “reality” shows. At the same time, I’d be glad if such shows disappeared from the landscape.
What, you’ve never been to the beautiful eastern European capital of Texas, Moldova?
Dolores Umbridge just chillin’ on the left there.
Oppenbarbie, but with a couple-hour gap between them to have dinner and decompress. In my younger days I would have probably done them as close to back-to-back as showtimes allowed. I once (late 1999) saw six movies back-to-back in one day, and while I love going to the movies, even that was pushing it.
It does when capitalism has led us to the dominant model being “growth at all costs, even if that leads to disaster down the road.”
Have they ever done a Halloween episode where everyone dresses up? That’d be a perfect excuse.
I mean, if they were a not-for-profit they probably wouldn’t have been operating at a loss in the first place...? They would have chosen a different operating model, needing to be self-sustaining from the start. Unless they had, like, a huge endowment, but even then they’d have to be self-sustaining in the sense that…
I think capitalism probably inevitably turns into unchecked capitalism. Capitalism leads to a concentration of wealth, and concentrated wealth allows you to manipulate the system much more easily, changing it to suit your own ends (in other words, making it easy for you to continue concentrating wealth even more).
Oh for sure, I’m not saying it would be a sensible or plausible thing for them to do, just that it’s something they chose to do and could un-choose it if they wanted.
I do like the fact that the article header photo basically says “...but I don’t actually give that much of a fuck, come at me, Internet”
Comedies are nearly impossible to make seem funny in trailers. I just saw this tonight and it was pretty great, so take that for what it’s worth.
Surely he can’t be sirius.
Sounds like a cannon event.
