Notify-osd is pretty similar to Growl, but with notify-osd you can't click the notification bubble and have the application that sent it open. Which is good and bad, depending on how you look at it.

@Devryn: Yes, but you can just tap each corner of the device in a clockwise motion to skip the tutorial.
