I admit to getting a little anxious when stopped in traffic under a railway bridge. Derailments have happened, and I don’t want to be underneath one.
This article answered virtually none of my questions about the event.
For sure the square box gives max cubic volume. But I’m not going to slag on Audi. At least they’re still making a wagon.
Now that’s what I call cargo capacity! Every short rear-overhang SUV today can only dream of this.
While we’re placing bets, let’s get predictions on how the race will play out.
It’s a long road back from oblivion, and IndyCar is only just returning to my radar. Back in the day, (mid-80s to mid-90s) the CART series was the premier racing series, which was more entertaining than F1, with Fittipaldi, Mansell, Villeneuve, Montoya etc. bringing worldwide attention.
I’m sure none of the same people are still calling the shots at F1, but foolish decision making must be a job requirement of sorts; like the 1978 season schedule, when Montreal was the final event of year, in October! Not surprisingly, that event holds the record for coldest F1 event, at 5 degrees C (40F).
Thanks for the correction.
I’ll have to test drive some new Mazdas and compare. The BMW design language has gone all ‘angry beaver’, so the more classic Mazda styling is appealing. I also like the idea of the inline-6 in a CX-70. But a plug in hybrid is interesting as well.
The crash happened while he was with Top Gear, so that’s the best association. Agreed, the headline could be more accurate. (Pretty much par for the course with any media these days).
I do hope Mazda continues to grow. They have a chance to suck sales from Toyota/Honda to prevent people from moving upmarket to Lexus/Acura. I’ve been a Mazda fan for years, and had a Mazda6 Wagon (manual) and a CX-9. They were both more engaging to drive than competing vehicles, even in the FoMoCo years.
“Despite the cuts, neither the Fisker Ocean nor the Lucid Air is a cheap car to buy right now. A base Ocean SUV starts at $38,999 ......”
Explain how she was supposed to read the manual on the car’s screen, with no power, while sinking?! /S
Martin should probably just avoid interviewing any celebs, unless they come to him (and provide a resume in advance).
Ya, Collin wrote ‘concrete bollard’ twice in the story, so I’m not sure what he was smoking. Probably the same stuff the driver was.
Well, Isle of Man (and Irish Road) races are unique in the world. Anything that happens there is impossible elsewhere.
True. I should have included the griping ride share drivers as well, as I do prefer them over the cabs in general, anywhere.
I’m starting to develop an early case of Schadenfreude for both Las Vegas and F1 due to the obscenely high prices. Fans are just wallets to vacuum cash from. I do hope it ultimately all goes well, but I would not be surprised if it all turns into a S*!t show. In Sept. the cabbies were griping and the strip was turning…
And, ironically, car theft is good for the car making and selling business.
