Talk is cheap...;) But I’m listening.

Now how about an AWD, 4 door pickup based on the Transit Active? Just gimmie a damned pickup with a low load floor like these vans. I don’t need to crawl rocky trails. That’s what my dirtbike is for. The truck is just to get me to the trailhead. If nothing else, let VW sell it, instead of rebadging the Ranger.

That works for the police bodycam video. I’d like to believe that forces won’t doctor video before releasing it as evidence.  But cell phone video from bystanders/victims etc. could be.  And even it’s outed as fake later, the damage would be done by releasing it unchecked.

That’s the point.

Your reasoning is all sound and I’d agree with you - if you were writing this in 2015.

Good to know. And it seems you’ve had some bad luck with other Euro cars. I don’t think its fair to call a car reliable based on 5K miles per year. I guess that they could be pretty hard miles, but still, I would expect no problems with that little use.

What mileage did you put on your Cayman over 5 years?

“You can also just buy the Porsche to check that box on your bucket list, keep it for two years then trade it for a Gladiator. The depreciation will be not so bad on a used Boxster”

In reality, you need a showroom, parts and a service department.

On my two Mazdas (2005 6 Wagon w/manual and 2010 CX-9 w), it was primarily the FoMoCo parts that failed on each of them.  The 5spd manual was clunky at the best of times, even with the MazdaSpeed short throw shifter.

Done.

I’m pretty sure Elon will do things his way. He’s creating a new transportation paradigms, not just building cars. Oh, and in his spare time, taking astronauts to the Space Station.

“If Ford could use hybrid + their 2.7l engine to yield city miles in the mid 20s”

How about letting the C8 get onto the market fully before we start going nuts for updates from the Factory. Jeez, was a total remake not enough for people?

Ya, especially when the FSM is based on the motor already being out of the car....

Referring back to a WCSIB story about the old A6 Avant, the dealer knows that the current owner knows how much this thing will cost to repair, very soon. Low ball the trade, knowing the owner is desperate to unload it while it still runs.

True. At the end of the day it cost us an extra Grand in taxes, licensing and money to the dealer for Safety Cert. inspection. Plus a new O2 sensor that I installed. Plus insurance and gas taxes anytime we drive it.  So I guess there’s the net benefit.  :)

NB :)

Neutral - Yup. We bought Jalopnik’s only answer to ‘what car should I buy?’.
No, not a brown, diesel wagon ;)

Put up a camera and you could have your own version of 11'8" bridge videos. Or the always funny parking-lot-island car on rock videos.
