All of Washington no longer has emissions testing as of Jan 1st 2020. And it never had safety inspections.

Mirrors add 2-7% drag to a vehicle. That may not be a ton, but automakers have already implemented the low hanging fruit to improve fuel economy. So now they are searching for every percent they can.

I know Local Motors got away with selling the Rally Fighter because if you bought one, you HAD to go to their HQ and help install the drivetrain. They would help you, but you still had to do some of the work. So my guess is Beck was doing something similar.

In college, we had Roger Boisjoly as a guest speaker for our engineering class. Like the actual engineer from Morton Thiokol who told NASA and his managers the o-ring would fail. Probably the most interesting class I had during those 5 years in school.

Those vans are knock-down kits built in South Carolina. They were removing the badges because of the “luxury” reputation Mercedes has in the states and they didn’t want the public thinking they were wasting money on luxury vehicles.

Ehh, I’ve been re-watching Scrubs, and I think Scrubs was good for the time, but it doesn’t really hold up to most modern “good” comedies.

I know I’m late, but the 1989 Dodge Colt Turbo (and Mitsubishi Mirage Turbo). Powered by the 4G61T engine, a destroked and slightly smaller bore version of the legendary 4G63T found in the Eclipse.

It was a small store with parking just outside the door. Not a major supermarket. But I too hate when people just leave their cars right outside the door, or when one person waits in the car while the passenger goes inside. Like if you do that go drive to the back of the lot and wait for them there.

That’s not where it happened, but its still is a small store with parking just outside. So they were probably in an actual spot when it happened.

When I got my clutch changed I later found one of the bolts holding the transmission to the engine was not even finger tight. I’m not sure how it hadn’t rattled completely out yet.

Yeah but your Cruze is a turbo motor. It’s easy to tune turbo engines for more horsepower. But the Miata is a high strung naturally aspirated engine. A $300 tune on a Miata is only going to get you 12-14 max HP and torque gain.

$5,000 is definitely inexpensive for a new motorcycle. One of the cheapest NEW, gas bikes you can get from Honda that can do freeway speeds (CB300F) is still $4349.

It’s electric so it has no gears. The motor is in the rear wheel. But yeah, in my state you need a MC license for an electric bike if it has the equivalent of 2HP.

Are they working with KTM/Husqvarna? Because that entire front end (fork, fender, headlight, upper/lower triples, maybe gauge cluster?) looks like it came right off a Svartpilen/Vitpilen 401.

The Mazda2 puts the ECM in the air intake as well. Most of the “performance” intakes for the Mazda2 end up bypassing this ducting by putting the filter right on the throttle body, which has always made me wonder if this puts the ECM at risk for overheating.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure the interior/structural sheet metal, firewall, and door/windshield frame are all still original. Basically all the places a VIN tag would be.

Especially after that Dakar win last year. I’m surprised they didn’t release a CRF450 Rally Dakar edition after breaking KTM’s winning streak.

I think 2020 was supposed to be the last season she was allowed to race in the W-series, but then the entire 2020 season was cancelled. So my guess is they extended that to next year.

That’s not just a Texas phenomenon.

Brad lives in Reno, he just purchased the car from California.
