Actually it was spearheaded by Mercedes to keep people from grey-market importing their cars. You could save up to $10,000 by importing a car direct from Europe instead of through Mercedes USA due to the value of the dollar vs other currencies at the time.

I’ve said this before, but a 2019 Yaris costs less than a 1990 Corolla. So a safer, more fuel efficient, cleaner, larger, and all around better car costs less. Even with those pesky environmental regulations “making it more expensive.”

The Levorg touring cars are RWD in the BTCC.

Oh I was so excited for it to be real, not just the audio overlaid on video of an i3.

For anyone claiming emissions add too much cost, remember a 2019 Yaris is cheaper than a 1990 Corolla when adjusted for inflation.

Yes but you are being proactive about it and speaking with the airline staff. You aren’t waiting until you get on the plane and asking some stranger to move because you didn’t plan ahead.

Here’s his signature drone in a build-it-yourself bundle. But you can also get ready to fly race drones for less.

Plus they would now have emergency housing for more than half the country!

The no entry-level car argument needs to die. A 2019 Corolla starts at $19,600, or $9,984.95 in 1990 dollars. A 1990 Corolla started at $8,748. So for a comparative $1200 more in 1990 (about the price for a top spec 1990 Corolla) you get a car that is safer, more fuel efficient, has cleaner emissions, and has more

I was talking about the Laguna track record, not the Nurburgring. And a powertrain that is still at least a year from “production” that has no official specs released is still a prototype. Hence, no production lap record. If you give them a production record, then they later change the drive train at all before it

The closest charger is probably conveniently located in their garage.

There are things called batteries. Especially if you only need it for 10 minutes.

I’d consider a stripped out car with a prototype drive train pretty much a “one-off”. Okay maybe a “two-off” but either way it’s not a production car, so no production lap record.

Well, that Laguna Seca car for sure sounded stripped out. Otherwise Tesla has worse sound deadening than a Corolla. And they admitted it had a prototype drive train in it, too.

What welder did you use for the rust repair? My Miata has some rocker rust starting to show on the passenger side, and for some reason I feel like fixing it myself. I’ve welded before, I just don’t have one of my own.

Seriously. We have to remember the 2JZ came out in 1991, fucking 28 years ago! That’s 28 years of aftermarket development. And it took a little while before people were making 1000HP out of those too. Give it some time.

If you can’t call it a truck, then is a Tacoma a truck? Since the Defender has a higher towing capacity than any mid-size pickup? And has the same rating in both the 90 and 110? Aren’t trucks supposed to be for hauling things around and exploring the outdoors?

I mean performance cars have built in back-fires (burbles and pops) nowadays and that’s a waste of fuel just for coolness sake, so I don’t really see much of a difference.

While I’m a slight Tesla skeptic, I bet there are more people cross-shopping a BMW M3/M4 (since the M3 is no longer available) with a Tesla Performance Model 3 than you think. The 3-series is one of the top 5 vehicles people turn in to buy a Model 3. Not all M3/M4 buyers are track day regulars.
