It’s gonna happen regardless. If it takes till next season, someone’s sending a beanball at him and he’s going to have to eat it and deal with it like an adult. Mattingly is just delaying the inevitable and he knows it. 

In general I agree, but I’m also irritated by this move. Now the Braves will definitely plunk a different Marlins player, and I will have to deal with deep moral confusion over the whole thing.
