Yes. That’s what I meant. I ignored some of his prior snide remarks, but he just got bold with it. I stopped watching his full shows live, reduced it to segments, and gave it up around 2011.

Exactly. Poll after poll after poll showed the American public did not GAF about his getting a hummer in the White House, or his lying about it. No one cared, other than GOP politicians.

Yeah, I do remember a couple of others, but “only” a few people died in comparison. And they seemed like outliers or revenge-motivated rather than indiscriminate terrorism

For me I think it was a reflection of post-Cold War arrogance, we felt that nobody could touch us, and even after 9/11 everyone thought we could just take out Iraq and Afghanistan and install democracies just like we did in Japan and Germany.

The unvaxxed aren’t in his demo anyway. Dude is making a movie about Nixon, for crap’s sake. Unless this is a Nixon movie where Watergate didn’t happen, and Nixon never did all that EPA/Clean Air bullsh!t, and he only went to China to fart on The Emporer’s sushi [no correction necessary], I don’t think ticket sales…

Memento’s is really good on so many levels

Yeah, a few years ago he was in 2 Fast 2 Times at Ridgemont High.

Either way, I always appreciate when he uses his assholery for good, rather than evil. I also liked it when he rented a boat and rescued people himself during Hurricane Katrina.
