It's not like he's stopped making fun of politics, he's just doing so in a less invested way. That strikes me as an ironic thing to criticize him for considering how many people criticized Jon for being too angry and bitter near the end of his tenure.

He may not be Jon, but I think Noah is doing just fine. Whether you find him funny is obviously subjective, but there are some criticisms of him that I think are misguided. For one, has everyone forgotten how much Jon smirked, mugged, and laughed too?

I wouldn't have nearly as much of a problem with Maher if his smirk was the most obnoxious thing about him.

I think The Office is a bit underrated these days. Seems to me like a lot of people think it was only really good for a season or two and then just coasted off that, but I think it was pretty damn good almost all the way through(season 8 probably being an exception, but I think the show righted itself with season 9).

I think 2001 challenges Dr. Strangelove for most phallic '60s Kubrick film.

It might seem unrealistic that an actual general would be as nonchalant about the idea of killing millions of people in the name of winning the Cold War as Turgidson is. If so, consider this quote from General Thomas S. Power, head of the strategic Air Command from 1957-64, when advised that he should refrain from

I thought that on Apollo 13 his score absolutely nailed the sheer exhilaration of the launch scene, and likewise for the cut-it-with-a-knife tension of the re-entry followed by the despair when it looked like they'd burned up and the massive relief and joy when they survived.

It's almost like Hollywood producers are a bunch of man-children.

Kevin Smith said Peters said his Superman movie had to have a giant spider because "They're the fiercest killers in the insect kingdom." For a guy who loves the idea of a giant spider that much, he doesn't know much about spiders.

I don't think he'd have been a good fit for Neo because I don't buy him as a reluctant hero. He'd be like "Damn right, I'm The One!"

If that's not an apology then what he said about Wild Wild West wasn't either.

"His apology for After Earth remains forthcoming."

"Masaka is waking."

I really wish Threshold hadn't been canceled so early. Great cast: Spiner, Peter Dinklage, Carla Gugino, Charles Dutton… Of course, myth arc-based shows don't have a great track record with resolving things, but I thought it was being developed nicely in the episodes we got and would like to have seen how it ended up.

Reminds me of a joke from the final season of Roseanne when different TV networks try to get the rights to air the Conners' life story. One of the networks was a thinly-veiled version of HBO, and the joke was about how they wanted to sleaze it up for ratings. I thought that was interesting because it seems funny in

Didn't take long for this to be dated.

Cleveland must've made a deal with the devil that they'd get a championship if they hosted the Trump nomination.

I only recently found out about this movie when I was reading the Laser Age columns after The Dissolve folded(you're welcome). I wonder if there's a way for Phipps to finish that series.

One-Season Wonders… usually doesn't do shows that are notorious flops, so other than Supertrain I can't think of any ones they've done that would make good MWOF fodder.
