The Mission is an awesome movie.
The Mission is an awesome movie.
Totally agree. I'd even say Meatballs 2 was way more fun.
Raising Arizona did it first and arguably just as good.
The guy who buys something early is the Asian Neil from Freaks and Geeks.
You are absolutely right. Kill Bill is by far the better movie, but Ong Bak was so groundbreaking in it's bonecrushing, stunt man abusing verisimilitude that it truly has had a much greater influence on action cinema. Without Ong Bak you wouldn't have the Protector, The Raid, and John Wick.
I hate it that I kinda dislike this idea.
My wife is a therapist at Cook County Jail, and the sad reality is that she mostly deals with young guys. When asked about plans for their futures, only 2 answers are given…basketball or rap. That is literally the only answer given by thousands of kids she's talked to. She…
Cool feature.
Seems like you devote a whole episode to Pullman Park alone.
They filmed Road to Perdition on St. Lawerence St. and at the Florence Hotel.
The one-armed man lived there in the Fugitive, and Ford ran into the now defunct Pullman Pub to make a call.
It stood in for Cold War era Russia in the Package.
In 82 a psychic told me:. You will die a million times in your underwear.
Why would anyone start with the first episode? No show gets really good until a few episodes in and do I really need any setup with MST3K?
Thanks, but I get the gist of it.
I started with Starcrash, and it was hilarious.
My local diner called it a francheezie. Yum
I'd even say it's better. Isn't relish just chopped up pickle? You don't need both. But a cucumber slices brings out the dogs flavor…especially with some celery salt on it.
I'll keep an eye on the schedule and if I see your film in the lineup I'll try and make it out. Hope it works out.
Kartemquin Films is an amazing documentary incubator here in Chicago (Hoop Dreams, Stevie, The Interrupters) As a sort of service they hold small screenings/critiques of documentary films in order to provide feedback. Reach out to Tim Horsburgh, he could probably tell you more about the process.
I hung out with the Sheik one night and he was so proud of that fact. He had a little memorial bag and a newspaper clipping of that incident was among the treasures.
I was at the Bruce Campbell Horror Film Fest this year. She had her new movie screening but she went to a ton of other flicks. I kept bumping into her and we'd talk horror and shoot the shit.
BC truly kicks ass.
Whoa whoa whoa. I know the internet is an evil place, but did you really just diss Harp Marx's harp playing? Oy
This scenario is mind-blowing to me. Haha.
I just saw John Wick 2 dubbed in Italian because I was in Italy. What the hell was your excuse?
Its not the scariest or goriest flick but its got a cool monster and a highly stylized look, real b movie glamour.
All of these are improbable. Everyone knows that for about 5 years from the late 80's through the early 90's every cover of Fangoria featured one of the Pumpkinhead movies.
I never really loved this one, but loved that part of it was filmed in my best friend's neighborhood Pullman Park in Chicago. This is an out of the way and frankly pretty hood neighborhood. It stood in for Soviet era Russia in The Package. And one night at 3am in July we were stoned as hell and came out of his place…
