Thanks!
Thanks!
Fame is an alternate-universe Mark McKinney. She was even raised on a chicken farm.
I wrote recaps of RPDR for another site for three seasons. The singing episodes were always my favorite because Lucian's expressions are a goldmine. Plus, Lucian's face was made to be blingeed!
Deal.
True. I totally would have been fine with Pearl sending Kandy home. Which is how it should have gone.
I think going straight glam was a smart move for Katya this week. It addresses Michelle's "can you do glamour" right out of the gate, but she still managed some humor with the Angelina Jolie leg.
It isn't fair, but immature and young tends to get more of a pass than poised and young. Tyra, Phi Phi, Adore, Violet were all given passes for their obnoxious behavior because "they're young" while Jinkx and Max are not, because Jinkx and Max don't ask for that kind of special consideration.
Lucian Piane is made of magic, moonbeams and cupcakes. He's always hot. The beard just makes him look more human than elfin.
And they eliminated one of the queens who might have done a good job. I doubt Kandy Ho is going to be burning up the episode, if she's still there.
Exactly. I think the freak outs are real, especially since she melted down on an early challenge that should have been in her wheelhouse.
Her crab walk was the delightful little Easter egg this week. That and the Angelina Jolie leg.
Pearl's 23, though, and Dreaming came out in 1979. I wouldn't be surprised if Pearl's mother, or some other adult who was around while Pearl was growing up, was a big Blondie fan as well.
Thanks. Dreaming is one of my favorite Blondie songs, ever, so seeing Pearl embody Debbie's performing style made it seem right. Trixie was adorable and while it's one of Blondie's "sweeter" songs, cute should never be a go-to approach to Blondie.
People respond differently to grief and loss. Even after several years. Sahara was someone she'd known since high school. Maybe talking about that in such a public way just seemed wrong to Kennedy. I won't clock her for not being more openly emotional about something that clearly was a big loss for her.
Pearl, either intentionally or not, was channeling Debbie Harry's awkward stage moves in that lip sync. I don't know if that's what Ru responded to or not, but Trixie was working the sweetness of the song without knowing about Blondie while Pearl was doing Debbie Harry.
Especially since he said, out loud, that he just wanted to prove he could be in a relationship. Going back after that realization is a level of denial that I don't think Patrick has.
Except Kevin's mother imploding their family is still influencing how Kevin acts. She left him, he didn't speak to her for years, he projected all his resentment toward both his parents onto his father and then, when he reconciled with his mother he dropped his relationship with his father. At least that's the story I…
He also said in the pilot that he'd only had one boyfriend at that point and it didn't even last six months. But the guy was ready to get married to his next boyfriend within a few months.
I'm actually going to defend Kevin here, and Patrick, but they are fundamentally different. Neither is wrong in what they want, they're just not the right people for each other.
I saw Patrick as having everything he'd built up in his mind about their relationship crumble. Kevin was only his third relationship but all three had been in the last year and a half or so. This was, in his mind, his "last, best hope" to prove that he can actually have an adult relationship.
