Is AV Club still doing Spoiler Space? I don’t recall seeing one since the transition but may have missed it. I’m actually mildly curious about this one.

Nonetheless, it is an accurate description of this (pretty good) comic book.
Nick Cave and Warren Ellis’ soundtrack stuff is some of the best work of the last 10-15 in my opinion.
The CS-80 always makes me think of Phantasm, for some reason.
Damn, this would’ve been great, probably. Imagine a collabo between El-P and Johann Johannsson. I don’t have the contempt for Hans Zimmer that many on here do, but I can’t help but be disappointed.
Every R&M fan I know in real life thinks this season is stellar and doesn’t give a shit who writes it, as long as it keeps being excellent.
Lord Fanny! Hell yeah
Kind of like red pill morons and the Wachowskis (who have stated that The Matrix was at least partial allegory for their own transitions).
People have tattoos of that already?! That episode’s like a month old.
Bojack said the internet is for nerds! Why does he have a twitter?
It varies in quality, but mostly no. Darwyn Cooke’s Minutemen is the only one worth even bothering with.
Some things never go out of style.
Stop replying to these goons and they will stay greyed.
I’m a huge doom metal nerd, and already love her previous stuff. This album was practically made for my tastes.
Agreed. I don’t understand this review at all. The album “coheres too much”?
Just listening to it now - it mostly sounds like the Ildjarn/Bone Awl/Sump/White Medal school of punky Raw Black Metal, but those bands tend to have much shorter songs. Also kind of reminds me of the Rhinecervs or Black Twilight Circle families of bands, atmospherically.
I actually liked Devil is Fine quite a bit, but thought it could have been trimmed down to an EP easily. The sound is interesting, and the concept of melding slave chants and black metal is novel to say the least, but some of the songwriting and recording seemed half-finished. Of course this could be said of lots of…
Sadly none of that means it won’t happen. Just like Hollywood keeps trying with the Universal monster movies, faux Harry Potterses, fairy tales, etc., the anime remakes won’t stop until the whole system collapses.
Hmmm, interesting. I may have to give this a spin after taking a complete pass on their last couple of records, which failed to capture my interest. I also had seen an uninspiring live set where the band seemed barely present - quite a change from the one I saw several years before that.
How exactly does this have a “crust punk aesthetic”?
