She's, like, as tall as a horse phallus is long.

Author nails it about tone. Durst & Co's is much more listenable than other nu-metal because it's silly, even endearing (The One? Come on - Fred's a simple man; he knows it).

'Zodiac' is something else. I think 'I Shall Destroy . . . ' or 'Switzerland' might be my favorites song for song, Zodiac is in the running - its production is crazy-good.

Heads up: all Electric Six's records are great and, arguably, outstrip Fire, regardless its concert favorites (and forgotten tunes) - they also do a great live show.

Crystal Shard would be soooo easy to do.

I think you're right. That's the impression I have as well. I probably should have clarified that I meant mostly aesthetically - I don't like the sounds of his records so much 1980 or so on - that soupy 60/70s quality is gone.

I think Zappa's work is almost uniformly great, for a variety of reasons, until around Joe's Garage. 1980s feel rather lost. Some his posthumous material is baffling about why it wasn't released during his lifetime (Civilization Phase).

Joe Perry of Aerosmith was hugely influenced by the Meters, of which he's admitted a few times. A lot of his great great 70s riffs up until Done With Mirrors are funky as hell.

I think My Friend of Misery's outro solos are great. For some reason Kirk pentatonically wailing in F# hits me just right on that tune. As far as the Met 90s go I listen to Load and ReLoad much more frequently. Maybe it's my love for 70s rock, but I find those two much more agreeable, if not possessed of some gnarly

Keith David: coolest voice in Planescape: Torment, which is saying something when Tony Jay's in the house

You Shook Me All Night Long - ACDC, Sweet Emotion - Aerosmith, Dirty Women - Black Sabbath, Mistreated - Deep Purple, On the Hunt - Lynyrd Skynryd, Jump In the Fire - Metallica, Just about ANY Opeth solo (props to "A Fair Judgement, The Amen Corner), Bad Penny - Rory Gallagher, Breaking Into Heaven - Stone Roses, any
