I’ve actually kind of been ranting about the DS games lately. Mostly, the community constantly says “Dark Souls 1 is the best in the series” but it clearly is not. I’ve got like 200 hours sunk into Dark Souls 2, and barely have 6 in DS1.

I can’t get into the games either, they games are just too punishing for me to want to continue the play and not rewarding enough for success. I got to the second boss in Blood Borne and used up all my blood vials and still died. When i respawned with 2, i just turned off the game and had enough.
My main point with bringing up those games is that on other websites when I bring up that I’m not a fan of BB, they usually tell me “Oh you just play COD and other games, you don’t know what real games are.” Stuff like that.
I understand why people enjoy these games. Overcoming the difficulty bestows a sense of accomplishment. Not my cup of tea, though. Seems like every game was punishing when I was a kid, and my life is difficult enough now. I used to enjoy learning and smashing those challenges, but now I would rather have hand-holding…
I picked up Bloodborne on Monday and after a few long play sessions, I unfortunately say this:
I’ve played the first Dark Souls game, and for the most part I ‘enjoyed it’. But I’m getting incredibly sick of hearing people over hyping certain aspects of this series.
