“...he suggests Hachette was fully aware that there would be a backlash against publishing a book by a “menace to society” like Allen (that’s how he sarcastically describes himself), but it got scared off when it was actually forced to recognize what that meant.”

Not to side with Allen, but that’s exactly what

christ, did you ever fucking say it. arguably worse than eugene!

No offense, Sam, but present-day Aaron Paul just barely passed for Jesse Pinkman last year, let alone Kurt Cobain.

I’ve always liked Evangeline Lily and it’s sad, between her writing “Marshall Law” and this hot garbage of a take, to realize that she’s kinda dumb.

I am entirely sympathetic to the letter writer and ANYONE who is repulsed by tobacco smoking. I’m glad things have changed—laws, taxes, social opinions, etc. But man it is fucking hard to quit nicotine. For me anyway. I’ve never had a problem with any other addictive substance or behavior but nicotine has really

Haha, it’s funny because rape is among the most horrific things a human can do to another human but it’s okay to normalize it in a prison setting.

I may have already been in a full length Cameo movie...!...

Until I can hire Cameo on Cameo to send a Word Up to my friends and loved ones, I fail to see the point.

You could probably avoid the lottery’s low probability and just Kickstart your way there. Donation incentives could include background character work or speaking parts for larger donations....er, forget I said anything. That’s a TERRIBLE idea.

Gad still has time in his schedule while being TV's most irritating character on Avenue 5?

So much hugging in this episode— it made me want a hug too! Also enjoyed that Troi’s counseling and empathic skills were actually useful for once. I’m just sad that we didn’t get a scene of Riker playing the trombone.

I am watching Picard in a non-nitpicking frame of mind, just going where it takes me, and enjoying it very much as I leave the clunky parts along the wayside. I watched this ep this morning and it was a lovely way to wake up. The thing that stood out most to me is how Picard is FINALLY not the frail old man he’s been

riker wasn’t always my favorite tng character, but goddamn did jonathan frakes bring it this episode. those scenes he had with picard were by far the best the show has done so far. he even made patrick stewart, who all series has seemed to be mostly phoning it in, step up his game.

I think Zack is being a little tough especially for an A- review. A Star Trek show can’t survive on nostalgia alone. I loved TNG but there are very good reasons why this show can’t and shouldn’t be trying to “bring the old band back together”. I dispute that it “promised to be a visit with old friends, and maybe some

I guess part of the reason I’m enjoying this more than most is I didn’t go into it feeling like I was promised ‘a visit with old friends’. I knew there would be nostalgia and fan service, yes, and it is very effective as this episode shows. But what I was expecting, and wanting, was a new story in the Trek universe -

Still 1000x better than the prequels. Although I’d be happier if everyone forgot the prequels, Disney movies, TV shows, and video games that stretched the vague world-building of the original trilogy way past the breaking point. I did like Rogue One, I have to admit.

Fuck SyFy. They cancel everything half decent.

and other parts are obviously a lie (like saying she had no idea, at 14 (the age of consent in Canada at the time) why the guys were inviting them back to the hotel room)
