I tend to only watch the big crossover events (though was a huge DC comics fan from 1987 - 1999, so am up on a good few of the storylines), but can someone help me out here, who was the overly wordy guy with the dodgy English accent, and secondly, is he always that annoying?

I’m sure this article was put together before Friday, and only two episodes have aired so far, but such is my love for Joe Pera Talks With You that I’m outraged it’s not on the list. I mean, quietly and politely outraged, obviously, and I’m sorry for making such a fuss but well, gee, I sure do love that show an

I really don’t understand the positive reviews this final season has got, for me it’s been a real mess, the characterisation all over the place, and the formula beyond tired. I didn’t hate this final episode and it wasn’t the disaster I feared it might have been, but it was only vaguely okay, and little more than that

I saw Maria Bamford for the first time last year after having wanted to for a ridiculously long time, and she lived up to my ridiculously high expectations and then some.

This year I’d say Stewart Lee’s Tornado/Snowflake gig was the best thing I saw, it was a close run thing with a production of How To Succeed In

That’s what I wanted to know, but I guess we’ll sadly never find out now.

That’s a really good point about Monica, then haven’t ruined her character quite as badly as they have with Richard and Jared, but it’s a pretty close run thing.

I used to be a computer games addict (and I say computer games deliberately, because we’re going back to the days of the Commodore 64 and Amiga because I’m an old, old man) but lost interest after the ps1, mainly as I couldn’t afford to buy new consoles / games at that point in my life. But now I’m a bit more affluent

I hate to say it as I used to love this show a great deal, but I thought it was fucking awful, relying on a tired old formula (everything goes wrong, but wait, they save the day at the very last minute) and the characters felt two dimensional and poorly written. Only one Random Roles by Will Harris and yet there’s two pieces by Sam Barsanti? Shame on you AV Club, shame on you.

There’s one site which is even more depressing - and that’s the British version! https://www.celebvm.com/ - at least the US one has some celebrities I’m a fan of like Norm MacDonald and Gilbert Gottfried, the UK one is just full of ex-soap actors and ridiculously rubbish celebrity impersonators.

I couldn’t agree more, I love the relaxing aspect to it, and used to comment to my now ex-partner that it felt like we’d been on a mini-holiday break after watching each episode as it had such a soothing feeling to it.

Have you watched Joe Pera Talks With You, out of interest? It’s quite a different kind of show, but

I’ve only seen the first episode so far, I didn’t mind it but it didn’t grab me like Detectorists did. But I’ll definitely get around to watching the rest of it soon,.

Kensington’s a very rich and affluent place, so Tahani definitely wouldn’t mock it. Whereas West Brompton is, well, just quite grim in comparison.

It’s much loved over here in the UK but I wish Detectorists was more popular in the US, and the rest of the world, as it’s just an incredibly lovely, gentle, sweet and uplifting affair.

A soul.

Or go for Iceman or The Silver Surfer, as they don’t wear any clothes at all!

If they’d run the story yesterday they could have tied it in with his birthday. I mean it’d still be lazy and pointless, but at least there’d be a vague reason.

I quite enjoyed it, it’s a very different beast, and quite bizarre in places, but there was enough going on to make it pretty entertaining imho. It is one of those films I can completely understand someone not liking though, almost the definition of a “YMMV movie”

I feel like I’ve hit it now which is frustrating as I was loving them for a good old time, but Endgame didn’t really work for me and I found myself a bit bored by the second Spider-man. It’s not superhero movies per se I’m bored of either, I watched and enjoyed Zebraman and it’s sequel recently, just the Marvel
