Absolutely, I constantly surprised that Marvel have made such a weird, dark comic but I’m so glad they have, and that it’s selling so well too.

He wrote two episodes of Doctor Who recently (one which was absolutely appalling, and one which was fairly good but nothing that special) and the film Goodbye Christopher Robbin, along with three novels which were pointless sequels to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, in amongst other things, so he’s still out there working a

It was the ending to the Basketball episode of Jon Glaser Loves Gear for me, which I won’t spoil just in case folks haven’t seen it yet. But the series as a whole was amazing and people should track it down asap if they want to laugh so much that it hurts, and even more than that.

He’s just joined the Navy at the end of the first issue, I’ve no idea how it will play out but the issue is piss poor in general so it’s probably going to be an embarrassing read. It really does offer up absolutely fuck all of interest to the Superman origin story and I’ve no idea why DC hired him to write such shit.

I’m amazed that Crazy Ex-Girlfriend isn’t part of this list, I had some minor issues with the finale but even despite that it was pretty amazing stuff throughout.

Jon Glaser Loves Gear should be on it too, but I’m less surprised by it not being there as it seems the site refused to acknowledge it’s existence for some

Doom Patrol not being on this list is a major omission, it was easily my favourite show of the year so far.

There was a fair bit in the UK, and I went along to a fundraiser for it years ago (mainly as I liked the acts performing, to be completely honest) so was on the mailing list, but I can imagine in the US it didn’t get much press as he’s sadly not that well known. Though I suppose anyone who saw Frank would be aware of

I’ve liked some of Gasper Noe’s other work but this, well, it just seemed so pointless, other than to say that under certain circumstances humanity is horrendous, and I already knew that all too well.

I’ve not seen either of them, just because I’d heard the director was a very unpleasant individual.

Thanks to a site called Avistaz I’ve discovered so many amazing Asian films recently, I’m currently working my way through all of Sion Sono’s work and loving 99% an enormous amount.

I really disliked Climax, it’s a miserable movie about shitty people and I don’t think it had anything interesting to say in the slightest.

I know it’s only just been released in the US and to not that many screens, but Being Frank: The Chris Sievey Story is an amazing documentary about a very unusual man, albeit a very funny one, and I loved it to pieces.

Also deserving of a place in the list is Ruben Brandt, Collector, it’s not a perfect film but it’s

I was thinking about this last night and I kind of hope they go a bit crazy with the dream aspect, I mean as it’s imaginary technically anything could happen so they could be much more playful and strange and weird, there was kind of an element of that with Pam’s entrance getting a multi-camera sitcom style big cheer,

Nah, it should have been this guy.

Ugh, this was tedious in the extreme, I can’t understand why it’s been given such a positive review, were The AV Club paid to publish this?

I struggled with elements of this episode as well, the first half was definitely too plot heavy and it felt a little too pleased with itself, though thankfully the second half was a lot stronger and had some genuinely funny moments. If anyone’s interested, I just posted a full review of it here: https://comedytowatch.c

Thanks for that, and I forgot it was only 8 episodes now rather than 10, which makes it a little worse if anything.

I have to admit to having mixed feelings about the first episode, some of it was fantastically funny, it looks stunning and the performances are amazing, but certain parts of the first half frustrated and it was a bit too plot heavy. Likewise, and it’s strange as his Vision and Mister Miracle mini-series were superb, but this was just a gigantic mess. I think it could be cut down to a five issue mini-series and be pretty interesting (as long as the ending was rewritten) but it was a bloated, frustrating and misjudged effort as a whole. Still, at
