Quick test; put it on and shake your head up and down, and back and forth. If it feels like the helmet can move without moving your head with it, the helmet is too loose. Long (mostly impractical) test; wear it for a a week to a month and see if you are happy with it.

Many manufacturers will x-ray or inspect a helmet if it is sent in. They look at the EPS liner and see if it is deformed. You can do this yourself, but if it had detached or deformed on the shell side, you would not be able to see it.

As far as I know, the Snell test has a puncture requirement, whereas the ECE does not. This might require a thicker shell, adding to the weight.

I noticed that too, and did a quick search to see if maybe BFG is reproducing Dunlop period correct tires. It doesn’t seem like it, so they must have just put on what they had around.

This, along with the Isle of Man TT and either the Dakar or Baja, are on my bucket list of races to go to.
