I actually find the fact that this is in his past encouraging. People can be teachable and change!

I am so glad someone else loves that movie!
I think it would be fun if we hadn’t known since they were shooting that Tilda Swinton plays multiple characters, one of whom is an old man. I recall seeing pictures of her in the make-up an everything on set, identifying her (I’ve been following this movie closely because I love Guadagnino and his work with Swinton…
I watched the first few episodes and his character(s) are a big part of why I lost interest. I do think Franco can be kind of genius in some circumstances. Those circumstances are Spring Breakers and Pineapple Express. He’s not cut out for more straightforward drama, and not subtle enough to make the twins he plays…
At my high school there was a pants option for girls.
. . . does she have a sister? I don’t think she has a sister . . .
Oh jesus, I’d heard this story but I didn’t make the connection with the current news.
Lol, yes I did read Ebert’s review — I wish I could dispatch that movie with half his eloquence.
This is true, but some films explore those things in a way that flattens the subject rather than drawing out the complexities in it. I don’t know about this movie, but I recently watched The Night Porter — a film from the 70s about a holocaust survivor and the Nazi guard who abused her finding each other years later…
Belle is a delight even if you’re only minimally interested in period romance.
That’s cool.
It is immensely upsetting to me when grown women call their dad “daddy.” It’s cute when you’re six. Not for long after . . .
Was Blue is the Warmest Color also about child rape? The ages of the characters there are the same (mid-to-older teen and mid-twenties grad student), but I don’t recall a backlash . . .
I am skeptical of this claim. They pushed it hard for award season, so I’m sure a ton of money went into that and they expected a better showing, but it made over 40million on a budget under 5million . . . even if they quadrupled the budget in advertising and such they still have a profit.
Yeah, I really wish they’d not cast Depp as Tonto. Not only was his casting deeply offensive, but the whole character was really poorly conceived (trying and failing to make that Jack Sparrow magic happen again) and single handedly brought down an otherwise really fun movie.
That is where you are wrong. Luca Guadagnino (Call Me By Your Name, A Bigger Splash, I Am Love) is directing the Suspiria remake and Tilda Swinton plays (possibly several) key roles. It’s gonna be dope.
I agree that this guy is a giant turd, but calling him a Nazi and then suggesting his forced sterilization for the benefit of the gene pool is . . . you know . . . kind of a Nazi thing to say . . .
Soup kitchens?
And even if you did accidentally grab chest, I assume you would quickly move your hand away and apologize . . . not dig in.
As a child, he was in a movie she directed. She could do the fucking math. There’s really no excuse here.
