Im not worried about used batteries, but I think cast blocks are a little easier to melt and recycle. I also buy used LS blocks. I don't know how many people buy used batteries. Job cuts are sad, but this is all for the better and needs to be done. 

I had never heard of wheel protection plans. $40 / month seems pretty expensive. I recently had a crack in a rim welded, and straightened to make it a perfect circle again. I only paid $160.
