Agreed. I did a camshaft and valve spring swap in my LS engine several months ago and I hated having to constantly turn on my phone. My hands were nasty with motor oil, assembly lube, and engine grime. I ended up writing torque specs, etc on a piece of paper so I would not need to touch my phone.

When changing the camshaft on as LS engine, while the engine is still in car, unfasten the oil pump and change the O ring on the oil pump. This will make it way easier to get the timing chain assembly together. Yes, you can change the camshaft without unfastening the oil pump. But it will give you way more room to…
