He’s complaining about $60k 944s, which effectively cost more than that when new decades ago, so yeah, it’s relevant.

Nah

The more ‘common’ enthusiast cars get weird. I see it on the 6th gen Camaro forums - people think the car is rare and unique because it was 1 of 66 built with that particular set of options. Even funnier when they include dealer installed options. Then there’s the GT350 crowd worried about ‘numbers matching’ engine

It doesn’t matter how many people are “in line” for the new Model 3—the posted price is the price.

Manufacturers are selling to their dealers, not the public. The dealers set their prices based on their markets and competitive environments. It’s called capitalism folks, the idea that a manufacturer would set limits on dealer maximum profitability that are below market would be detrimental to both entities.

If you’re mad at GM for the layoffs but feel perfectly fine with Tesla closing damn near all their retail stores/laying off the store’s workers so you can most likely not buy a cheap version of a small car, then you’re a hypocrite.

What person in their right mind would ever get the Caddy over the cheaper XC90? Honestly, even if the XT6 were $5K cheaper than the Volvo I’d still be thinking to myself that the extra $5K to get into the Volvo would have been the best $5K spent. Maybe I like the Volvo too much? Or just don’t like the reskinned Chevy

Very big difference between pre-service use or use before you applied for a clearance. Once you’re granted access/in a position of trust it’s considered a major violation. And state laws are meaningless in this context.

I was wondering when Musk would be called out by the government for that episode and his ties to SpaceX.  I’ve worked in a position where that behavior would have left me terminated because of security clearance issues.  It’s a real risk.  It’s one that is accepted as part of the business of aerospace and defense.

This kind of thinking is what makes me hate the products of higher education. People will go to college, probably go for a degree that has no real world value, make very little, and then bitch about the guys who went out there and did something that has tangible results and they can take pride in. Like seriously, when

While I don’t fully agree with drh3b, I don’t agree fully with you either. I know some people with master’s degrees that are worth about as much as my 2 ply bulk toilet paper from Costco. I mean that’s fantastic that you got a Master’s Degree in Psychopathology of the West African Endangered Field Mouse, I would like

To counter that:

There is only one true XT6.

That says more about how shit someone’s masters degree is than how evil a union is.

Brace yourselves for the Tesla stans explaining how smoking weed was Elon’s next big brilliant move, and it’s really not a big deal, dad.

Yes, she does. This was a rookie mistake made by somebody who is a rookie. And whether any of us like it or not, if there was one person who could not make this kind of mistake, she’s it. As much as all of it is stupid and ridiculous on its face, this was a stupid and ridiculous distraction that should have been

The entire premise of the article is whats wrong with the car market right now. A buyer who bought new in 2016 is back in the market in 2019. That’s the first mistake. Then a buyer “on a tight budget” with a $500 monthly payment will struggle with $550 a month.

One thing that also helps is the low-interest rates are still to be had if you join a good credit union, and your credit rating is good... banks and most dealers will fleece you like a sheep then charge you for the sweater. Having good credit doesn’t mean they are necessarily going to put you into the best loan you

Detroit: Never. Chicago. Last week actually, New York: Lived there over a decade ago. I spend some time in Atlanta too. I’ve never met a black cop who looked at me as anything else but a potential arrest for their quota. I wouldn’t trust any of them to protect my life or my rights if one of their white colleagues came

Especially since cars are more reliable than ever. Even at 10 years most are perfectly fine.
