82% of customers bought their Model 3 without ever having taken a test drive
The people driving Teslas now are very much early adopter types. General car normies don’t buy 60k purchases sight unseen. Tesla cant survive off the adopters forever.
My friend worked at a service center in a higher-level position, with best numbers in the region. Randomly, a manager from another service center walked in, took him and his supervisor into a meeting and terminated them for “performance reasons”, and as long as they signed paperwork it was made clear they’d get 2…
What’s happening is that this shit move will not work long-term. It’s a short-term move to appease shareholders.
The Taycan is coming, that's what's happening.
What is going on is Telsa scrambling to reduce its costs and to move more cars via those reduced costs before it has to go back to the bond market to request more money.
No, but I’m glad I didn’t listen to my dad and go work for them.
Also, the head of Hyundai’s N performance division, Thomas Schemera, was previously the head of BMW’s M division.

Taking designers from the Germans, actually. Peter Schreyer was ex-Audi. Luc Donckerwolke, the new chief designer, is ex-Bentley/Audi/Lamborghini.
I've had 3 Hyundai/KIA cars and one BMW and have been very happy with the Hyundai/KIAs. They are good cars and prove it by leading the charts for reliability. My BMW was great but my Stinger blows it away.
You’re really going out of your way here to spam comments with your anecdotes about reliability.
Hyundai released the majorly refreshed Sonata in 2011. Ford refreshed the Fusion in 2013, yet people still claim Hyundai copied Ford. :)
What’s so bad about it? It’s like an A7 with a factory ducktail.
Look my wife has a great 15 Sonata. Never and issue with it. Handles cold and snow well. all the tech is great and everything all works and the car if very quite and solid. If you are going to judge Hyundai on its past please judge GM and the rest on their pasts. Hyundai make good cars.
That last part is why I just picked up a CPO ‘16 Sonata Limited. It’s not the excitementmobile of my past vehicles, but damn...I can sleep at night without wondering what’s going to break next.
This must be what adulting feels like.
US Automakers: Sedans are dying we’re not going to make any more or sell them here.
Literally everyone else: Hold our beers.
As a lifelong German sedan devotee, I have to admit: I find the current mid-sized crop from Hyundai/Kia and Honda to be awfully compelling.
It’s like a better looking Lexus ES
