Its the X-Men basically going against the very concept they represent, turning from seeking coexistence and equality through effort and sacrifice, to a whole nation preaching superiority and using manipulation, militarism and subterfuge to establish its power.

I just keep wondering how far they will push it until they reveal whatever brainwashing Xavier has been up to.

I want him to be Cyclops, just so there can be a scene where Cyclops has to go to the bathroom suddenly, and then Captain Krakoa appears and says “Where is my good friend Cyclops? You know, the best X-Men leader of all time? I should look for him! I’ll be right back…”

A) They’re not. A character appearing for a few minutes is not being “shoved down your throat.”
B) He’s awesome, and should be featured more often, not less.

That (the Kang variant bit) would be taking some massive liberties with Marvel comic canon, but maybe they could make it work?

If they were really smart they would use What IF...? to introduce Deadpool, The X-Men, Silver Surfer, etc... to the MCU. These would be “alternate” versions of them, so they don’t need to be exactly as they will be when they eventually appear in the MCU films, but even “alternate” versions would be a major deal and…
