And this works on Linux Ubuntu as well - how great.

That's great to know. There seem to be mixed stories about Google Voice working when you're connected via a non-U.S. IP address.
Wow! Many thanks for the GV/Pidgin tip!! When traveling internationally, I gather that placing & receiving Google Voice calls from the Gmail web UI & plugin is not possible.
Thank you for bringing up the point of browser integration. That is a point that is rarely mentioned and I agree completely.
KeePass, FTW!
Wow, many thinks for the pointer to privnote.com - not only is there a very clear and comprehensive privacy policy, but the site is HTTPS. QuickForget is intriguing, but lacking those crucial elements.
Any speed issues aside, from my understanding, OpenDNS provides an added level of security to the web browsing experience, does it not? Anti-Phishing, Botnet protection?
Great post. When Mozy announced their atrocious new pricing structure, I too examined the options and settled on CrashPlan. (In fact, because CrashPlan offers a Linux option, I upgraded my system to Ubuntu from Windows - a nice side benefit of switching backup providers.)
I can't speak to 1Password or to LastPass, but KeePass (and now KeePassX on Ubuntu) has been serving me well for years now.
I use the SRWare Iron version of Chrome and Firefox 4. Both browsers are usually open all the time. Firefox usually contains sites that I constantly monitor, and Chrome is my Gmail as well as everything else.
With a computer like that, I've always used the streamlined Xubuntu to great results.
Good job guys - love the retro music and bumper clips. It gives the show a nice feel.
Fortunately, I wasn't one of the .08%, but I've been backing up my Gmail to my desktop once a month for years.
Evernote seems to have gone from being a note taking favorite, to being completely disregarded in a very short period of time. I learned about Evernote here on Lifehacker and I still use it constantly.
I deleted Chrome from my system and have been a very happy user of Iron since Lifehacker first wrote about it in 2008: [lifehacker.com]

As this news begins to sink in, the repercussions to me are beginning to take shape.
What a shame. I've loved and recommended Mozy for years now. I have nearly 1.5TB backed up with them.
Number porting will certainly be a great option for people to have.
I found this to be a lot of fun. I earned my 1GB.... but I would be lying if I said I didn't turn to one of the many posted walkthrough's while working on it.
