@TrombaMarina: I hear you - and I don't disagree. However, while I've upgraded my Flash and Java consistently, this site pointed out that I have old, outdated versions of them still on the machine. It also points out exactly where they are so that I can easily delete them manually - handy.

Mozy - almost nightly.

@mischlep: I just did a search for Anonym.OS and while it sounds great, it seems that it is no longer being updated.

I read the article above, and some of the comments and I'm confused as to whether TrueCrypt can be run without admin privileges.

In reading the article and then some of these comments, there seems to be a lot of confusion as to whether TOR encrypts or not.

@adamthecamper: That sounds like an interesting and amazingly simple solution. Is it a bootable live CD?

@b1589190: Re: point number 2, I don't want to take your money, but I've booted into all kinds of CDs in Internet Café's, including Linux distros. As long as they're getting paid, I don't think they care what you do.

@Adam Pash: That is very interesting. Thanks for that.

@chumleyex: A nice idea, however if the computer is already compromised, it could corrupt the data on the USB as soon as you insert it.

Overall, I think this is really wonderful news.

I usually rip with DVD Shrink and then turn it into the file that I want it to be with Handbrake.

Really, this is great. Many thanks for sharing!

Wow, you're asking me to make Sophie's Choice! The list would be far too long, so I've limited it to the five most core essentials - and even then I've kind of cheated on the last one:

It's not crucial, but does anyone know a relatively painless way to mass download (a.k.a. liberate) all of your Grand Central data before the deadline?

This all sounds great, but I've been burned before in trying to get something with "push" to work on my unlocked/jailbroken iPhone. Can anyone confirm that this will or will not work on an unlocked/jailbroken 2G running OS 3.0?

@Travis Hudson: I've been using the torrent method exclusively for some years now. I pay my monthly broadband fee, and that's all. I adopted this method while living overseas, faraway from American television. It was the only way to keep up with my shows. Once I returned Stateside, it was the natural choice to signup

Beautifully stated! I've been using Chrome more and more recently (though I do miss the FF plugins), but the fulfillment of this wishlist would keep me firmly rooted in Firefox.
