@WaldenLebanon: Thank you very much for all of your insights as well as for maintaining this wonderful and necessary software. I can say firsthand that outside of the US, I have seen TOR have a direct and positive impact on people's lives. Thank you.

@Shai: I respect Ironkey, but I resent the fact that you have to pay for the internet protection and it comes with a term limit.

I cannot tell you how much TOR has helped me.

This software has been a Godsend to me under a variety of circumstances.

Two things, both from Google:

I'm another vote for HostMonster. After a horrible experience elsewhere, I've found them to be great in terms of service reliability and also customer service - they are my hosting provider and shall remain so.

@David Wm. Eckmier: I had a horrible experience with iPower. I used them for years although their customer service was reprehensible. Then, eventually, after nearly 4 days of no service and no emails coming through, and no end in sight from customer service, I moved elsewhere. I would be very leery of recommending

Well, this is a great service....but OH how I wish it would work with my GrandCentral number!!

I've been a dedicated user of GrandCentral for well over a year now, but since Google seems to have completely forgotten about it, I'm beginning to wonder if I made a mistake. There have been no improvements to the service in many months, and the last update to GrandCentral's blog was (I think) last April.

Boy oh boy, it would be REAL nice if this worked with Google's GrandCentral service....

@digital_man: and P.S. PeaZip always seemes to handle segmented rar files with great ease.

VOTE: PeaZip

Wow - clearly YouTube feels influenced (threatened?) by [www.hulu.com]

Naively, what exactly is the difference between what this does and what TOR does? I don't seem to recall that TOR is encrypted, while this one is?

VOTE: uTorrent 1.8

VOTE: KeePass and KeePassX

I know that I've mentioned them on here before:

In recent years, I've been spending a lot of time in remote parts of Asia.....and I don't carry a laptop.

I love the Superstars. Of all all of these "experiments," the Superstars are my favorites. Somehow I don't mind cycling through them either.
