Yeah, the are loosely linked by "Radical Dreamers", bur doesn't actually represent a sequel. Just a few nods here and there to Chrono Trigger, and all the fan-theories about how they are related.

The Medley has "Those Imprisoned by Fate" (People Imprisoned by Destiny, People Seized with Life, Prisoners of Fate, or any name you call it) so that makes it totally awesome. Too bad he fell in that part, but damn, love that piece of music.
