To be fair, you can totally make poutine with a light gravy (chicken or turkey, for example). You just have to make sure it’s labelled as such. Calling it poutine, instead of poutine with chicken gravy, will get you a lot of sideways looks.

The southern Atlantic Coast doesn’t really have warmer winters than the rest of Canada. While we may be a few degrees warmer on average, the humidity and wind chill more than make up for that.

That’s because our universities are partially funded by provincial/federal tax dollars. A student from Nova Scotia pays ~7000 a year for tuition. An out of province student has to make up the provincial tax portion, so that brings it to like ~9000 An international student has to make up both the federal and provincial…

Can’t be that recent. My friend is 23 now, was born in/lived her entire life in Canada, and has citizenship because her mother is from Boston.

You pretty much lose agency over your own narrative when your face is everywhere and your name is known to everyone. Not saying it’s right, that’s just how it is.

Not really when you wouldn’t otherwise be going there. I mean if some dude came up to you on the street and handed you a free plane ticket to Florida, he wouldn’t really be helping you financially unless you were already planning on going.

I agree with you there. I’m a white, 22 year old guy from a lower middle class family and my parents literally offer to help me out with EVERYTHING (usually with money they don’t have). I never accepted it though.
