THAT WAS THE SERIES FINALE????!!??

door-frame touchers: it’s a thing!

i think it’s probably more of a “Gretchen is getting sober” pivot. note how when her boss’s assistant tells her that she wants to have drinks later, Gretchen’s reply is, “...like, FUN drinks?” then when she’s at the table she basically chugs a glass full of whiskey. my prediction is that Gretchen makes a move to clean

it’s not her house keys that Gretchen throws; it’s the keys to the minibar. if you notice, when she checks into the room, she snags all of the snacks and candy, skips the 3 bottles of wine, then grabs the OJ and water from the fridge and leaves the beer/liquor. she then tosses the minibar key out the window so she

i watch all of my TV with closed-captions and it’s wrong, like, a lot.

Hitchcock called it a “burn” barrel, not a “bum” barrel. (probably a reference to the infamous “burn barrel” from Making a Murderer?)

i LOVED this flick.

the “have a truly happy day” line is a reference to the butter commercial Rebecca sees in the pilot.

so, essentially, this is just House of Lies in period-drag? meh. idk if i can sit thought another full season of Marty Kaan wheelin’ and dealin’ and not givin’ a shit about The Rules of Business.

sooooooooo, no mention of the fact that Brianna is about to become stepmother to her own half-brother, eh? okay, cool!

so, let’s see, the Cats were: Riki Lindhome, Fred Armisen, Todrick Hall (??), and Megan Amram? jeez, talk about an all-star guest lineup.

even if you know nothing about the case (i don’t either, i’m watching the show cold) — Sweat mentions in an earlier episode that he’s a cop killer. so as soon as we started following around an unknown cop my brain was like, “oh, right, this must be the guy Sweat killed.”

wowwww. was he also the reporter that almost outed Nancy Botwin in the later seasons of Weeds????? 🤔

Now playing

1. “The Cringe” reminded me a lot of Lonely Island’s “The Creep.”

just wanted to pop in and let y’all know that i have not been this rocked and awed and devastated by a TV show since Fleabag. Wanderlust is truly stunning; Toni Collette is the glue holding it all together, but the cinematography (the FRAMING of some of these scenes omggg), the sound editing, and the music choices,

“it even feels unawarely sexist...”

you need. to stop. calling her. “Eileen.”

(also, the director Alex Hall, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and David Simon all refer to her as Candy in the post-show featurettes.)

it’s kinda strange to me that you insist on using the name “Eileen” for Gyllenhaal’s character when she and everyone she encounters (except her mother) refer to her as Candy. she isn’t tricking anymore, but she still uses that name — the one she chose for herself — while assuming a position of power as a director. i

just came here to say i really enjoyed how this season wrapped up and GODDAMN i need the guy who plays Andrew’s number IMMEDIATELY. whew. lord. [fans self]
