Yes, he really is stupid. In no way is that guy self aware and cunning enough to premeditate the scenario you mention. He can barely mumble through the next sentence he is telling the cop about his sweet Lexus.

If true, this makes a lot more sense, as some blanket “legislative immunity” is completely insane in a democracy, though also exactly the type of self-serving corruption I would expect from Arizona. Though even if interpreted as you say, does this mean that a legislator would not be detained for a DUI or domestic

Seriously. I mean, once I got this car up to speeds of 120, 35, and 72 MPH...man this thing really hauls!

Agreed - a proper re-flaring and sculpting of the body would have been excellent. Instead, the fit and finish of those fenders looks like something  you would buy off E-bay and ship from China in 3 weeks...the black rubber trim that is slightly wavy is not helping either. Don’t get me wrong, I love this thing, but a

You laugh, but I just got done with a week long cycle trip through the Black Forest in Germany. Most of it was on paved roads that were indeed logging roads. Even the unpaved bits were amazingly well maintained. It was a little disconcerting to be trudging uphill and see a huge truck that occupies the entire width comi

I take the approach of a carabiner and a lockbox that has all the keys to our bicycles, cars, motorcycles, and buildings. The main house key is on at all times, and just put the keys on the carabiner for the vehicle that I am going to use that day. I would surely lose a single key/fob if unattached.

Thank you for this, and it is interesting that they are having to do a tricky projection of which cars are likely to receive the different blue placards, as there in no national law yet. (or at least that was my reading ...I only know basic German) I imagine that it is pretty tough to retrofit emissions equipment

At least in the past, there have been exceptions for “oldtimer” vehicles that are registered with historic plates. I am not sure if that is the case here, but either way would likely to have a small impact, as there are relatively few diesel classic cars. This is really going to hit the cars from the mid-90's the

I’m guessing the keys were is the center console or something the entire time, and basically she never locked the car. At least with our Nissan, you can’t lock the keys inside the car...otherwise, she must have noticed that there was someone else’s house keys, etc... on the keychain?

I would definitely laugh at Chevy products for 2 hours for a $35k payout...I wonder if you can strategically game this so that it LOOKS like you are supportive of their marketing, but really just making fun of them.

Cars like this in perfect condition do have particular value. I am sure whoever buys it can make money renting it to film studios as a period-correct background car.

Seriously, velour from that era is incredibly comfortable in all climates. Usually it has deteriorated into fuzzy dust by now, or scarred with the telltale sign of a stray cigarette - but these seats are absolutely perfect!

Yeah, when I saw that, I was really shocked. I mean, sure not all my seatbelts properly retract, but I have never seen an attempted repair with duct tape!

I just wanted to say that I really like your approach and ethos about this type of project. I would like to say that my interests in cars occupy a similar line between “pride-and-joy and the junkyard”. However, an objective evaluation of my projects would see that I am more an aficionado of resurrecting other people’s

On electric cars it is sort of weird - because there is no engine noise beyond a small whine, you notice all sorts of other weird noises that would probably otherwise be masked. And because they tend to make the most of aerodynamics, I’m sure that there are also some range/efficiency savings as well.

I think that was covered in the post : reduced wind noise was primary goal. But I agree, it seems there must be a way to further minimize the projection while still getting the same coverage and field of view.

I like how the vision of the 50's futurism often included asphyxiating bubble canopies that would undoubtedly be blisteringly hot and be a pain in the ass to keep clean.

I wish I could join your slack channel and add to the yelling. There is no “need” for backup cameras, and most situations where people feel they would be useful can be solved by situational awareness (and back-in parking).

Hey, no fair stacking the deck with a lead image pic! ;)

That is the point really...much of foreign policy is about answering this question : How can the US most effectively continue to exploit the resources and people of the rest of the world, especially the global south?
