I love everything about this story. Did you give the battery a name?

Lifter tick from 2 cylinders on my Merc diesel until the oil thins out enough to pump the hydraulic lifters up fully. I think it may be a slightly clogged oil passage that I should probably address, but have been too lazy.
Well, if Jesus would have just calmed down and acted a bit more reasonably, he might not have been put up on the cross. Those noble money changers in the temple and filthy lepers would have just figured out the best outcome on their own.
He also just bought the fucking car last week.
Yeah, I am actually waiting for the E-Golf prices to come down just a bit more, and I’ll sell the Leaf to get into one. We test drove the Golf at the same time as the Leaf, but couldn’t justify the premium, despite it being a much nicer car. I have always owned VWs, and even though the diesel scandal tarnished them, I…
These cars also have seat heaters and heated steering wheels. Heat is definitely needed for defrost, but generally driving the older Leaf we are able to just cycle the heat a few times at the start of the drive, and then mostly just use the seat heater. But range is definitely decreased in general in very cold temps.
The slides show the new version of the vehicle will feature a 60 kWh batter pack
suers going to sue, sue, sue, and lawyers going to laugh all the way to the bank.
I was seriously impressed by the launch - good traction and form out of the hole.
I am one to never buy new, but it does make me worry about what cars will be available on the used market in ~5 years. Especially as I like small cars and wagons, which are a dying segment of the market.
I heard that the latest evolution of this trend was “raw water with electrolytes”, directly from the source. Just a sec, I’ll go fill up a bottle...
Yeah, that version of the Bertone coupe is far better (and prettier) than the previous incarnation. A friend of mine had a 780 in high-school with the turbo and it was a downright fast and sporty car for the time, while being super comfortable too.
I’m not really sure how much better the circulating coolant heaters are, but it did seem to make a difference in cabin warm up. But that was on older diesels, and not even really that cold - in the Pacific Northwest where it only gets down to about 15-20 F.
Fair point regarding the fact that block heaters are indeed immersed in coolant. I have had pretty good luck with the Zerostart-style circulating coolant heaters, but have only installed them in a couple cars. They did make a difference in start up smoke and interior cabin warm-up.
Are you sure this isn’t from some British slapstick comedy?
There are also better options now than block heaters : coolant heaters. They are plumbed into your coolant system and preheat your coolant so that both your interior and engine are at temp faster. They circulate via heat convection.
How cold is cold depends on the age of the vehicle though. I see the graphic above and handy reference, but doesn’t seem to capture other elements.
Is it called “Blockchain CUV Motors”?. If so, expect the money to start rolling in.
Yes, this is absolutely true for most “major manufacturer” EVs. However, prices for used Teslas still seem pretty high.
New truck aero has gotten out of hand.
