I think spares should be mandatory - They are weight worth carrying around, and that “slime patch kit” they put in instead is worthless. I have looked at those forums and have been meaning to retrofit one of the spare tire kits onto our Leaf. Very adventurous of you to have a Leaf in Australia!

Thanks for the input and I still look forward to Jason’s review. The number one gripe I have is about the lack of spare tire. Last winter I hit a pothole and blew out the sidewall of a tire, less than a mile from my house. I had to get the car towed and missed a work meeting. Having a spare would have made it a 10

Yeah for the exact same reason that macho signaling is a thing in the truck market. Also, for efficiency, aerodynamics play a role in EVs, so their styling is somewhat a function of that.

As others have said, this doesn’t seem sufficiently compelling on a 3-4 year old car. But I really am interested in their other TDi offering that I don’t hear much about :

Can you ask the marketing team why the plural of Nissan Leaf is “Leafs”, instead of “Leaves”.

As a Leaf owner, I’ll ask a few questions about a few things that bother me about the current generation (though I am very happy with it overall):

My (selfish) vote is somewhere in the Pacific Northwest. Old cars last a long time out here, and as the sterotype goes : the dream of the 90's is still alive in Portland.

That was my first initial thought as well : Fox body Mustang. It has a certain angularity that can’t be explained by the motion blur. But this is a tough one.

Yup. The particular locale/car I was talking about was an old International Scout I had when I lived in Hood River, OR, which is pretty arid compared to a lot of the Pacific Northwest. No way has that Porsche been there for all those years.

Also worth listening to some of their older gems : “Bra Monkey” and “Ure Hot”

That is a good point and could be a useful clue. Though my understanding is that date coding only started in a consistent way about a decade ago.

Man, those shots of the guy using brake cleaner on the carb made my hands hurt. I mean, just a little bit makes any open cut hurt like hell, and his hands look seriously chemically burnt. No way is that healthy - put on some gloves already!

Yeah, this really is a miss for them, and shows how lazy their marketing team is. Just get away from the stigma of hybrids already and call it a “dual motor” or something like that. I imagine that the hybrid drivetrain also will help with braking and towing response as well. Market those attributes and I am sure that

Man, I forgot what shitty tires cars came with 27 years ago!

I don’t know, it seems from her general state of being disconnected from reality that Kellyanne might actually have a lot of experience with drugs. How else someone would someone be able to do her job?

Germans love the IDEA of Native Americans due to the writing of Karl May. He wrote novels about the American West, but never visited anyplace west of NY. His novels elevated the noble savage archetype to another level for Germans, and they have a strange fascination with the projection of self sufficiency and native

I really love the landscape of eastern WA and OR. And truly the climate is perfect for not rusting or rotting out cars.

I can see his pride is perhaps getting the best of him, but there is a practical aspect. If he truly is headed to Oregon to live with a friend, he is going to need cash for rent and deposit. It really does make more sense to get ~$4k and not have the ongoing expense of the truck than it does to get cash for gas and

Absolutely agree with your post. The few people I know who have taken to the road for an extended period of time did it either after selling considerable assets, or had trust-fund support and/or side gigs they set up ahead of time. I’ve done three months on the road, but set out knowing that I had a place to land at

Yeah, though most of the #vanlife vagabonds are either trust-funders or people who have learned the art of the hustle and have sponsors or a job they can do while on the road. Also, I swear many of those dude’s channels only survive because of the presence of their athletic and fit partners, or at least that is how
