You can pick up a pay-as-you-go phone for ~$50 with $20 credit in it in most EU countries. In the UK, Calls to the US are about 15-20 cents per minute from PAYG phones - but the data costs are EXPENSIVE. Use wi-fi hotspots for data on the Droid.

But you're a selfish douche who doesn't care that the potential system failure caused by your phone could kill you and everyone else on your flight. @2 replies: I think this is the first step for Apple to become their own provider. I heard there is a new cellular network being built from the ground up in the US and will be available for lease to independent providers. I reckon Apple will be first in line when that happens.
