I've never liked Elmo and was always a Grover boy. This was my favorite bit as a kid.
I watched five minutes of a first-season episode of The Americans and it struck me as overacted melodrama. I'm being unfair to it by not watching it, and I'll probably get over it at some point, but I didn't like what I saw.
I guarantee you their next target will be people who watch HBO Go on mobile devices and Roku by using someone else's cable info, like me (thanks mom and dad!).
Their outrage pieces are bad, but I respect the fact that they're laced with liberal amounts of venomous sarcasm. Deadspin's outrage pieces are dry, humorless, and a chore to read. Even their satire pieces are fucking boring.
Gawker Media websites have always had strong convictions, but the difference is that their articles used to be fun to read. Now they're just screaming into an abyss in the most boring fashion possible. Deadspin has suffered the most- the comment section is still a bunch of people jockeying for who can make the most…
Yeah, "Same Love" is Macklemore at his most self-aggrandizing and I can't believe that people think that this was some kind of great statement about his character. "Thrift Shop," however, is silly fun.
I stopped watching a couple of months ago because Jon doesn't even try to make it funny anymore. He's become Gawker.
I take it some of the only footage of Lifetime melodramas is by Everything is Terrible because they're that bad?
I hope he doesn't have an anger stroke before then.
That was just a great episode all around. The mariachi band gag is the sort of timeless thing that you can see in any comedy, but leave it to Mike Judge to pull it off as a cliffhanger.
Now this is the kind of Hatesong entry that got me loving this column in the first place.
And even if you haven't directly thought it, you've definitely participated in it subliminally. It's like advertising.
Yeah at least there's much more to Schumer than "LOL black dick am I right?"
They still have the Yule Log on TV. Just think of that record spinning program as a musical version of that.
I truly hate the elitist culture towards music that Guy talks about here, and it's only gotten worse in the past couple of years with the prevalence of the thinkpiece. Nowadays, every wanker who writes for Salon or The New Inquiry or whatever other pseudo-intellectual piece of shit website you can think of isn't…
Lisa Lampanelli is on the bottom rung of the ladder of "crude women comedians," which is so nasty that you may slip on the semen stains. I was being harsh on Schumer- I may not be too into her humor but she isn't a mean comedian.
meme replies, get your meme replies here (imagine i posted this on the other guy's response too)
Bleh. Amy Schumer always struck me as an even cruder, even more over-the-top Sarah Silverman, who already has those two qualities in spades. The difference is that Sarah does it all with a knowing wink, while Amy is more like the comedic equivalent of a person who talks very loud at a restaurant about a very personal…
You know how when you were in middle school health class there were always kids (usually boys) who started quietly giggling like idiots whenever anything sexual was mentioned? That was me every damn time "Let's Talk About Sex" came on.
