I’m in 100% agreement with you that in all situations other than traffic I find a manual transmission to be the optimal choice. For me. However, I think someone should have their manual shifting skills highly polished and trained and even practice rev matching and heal toe before ever seeing a track for the first

I know I’m being pedantic here, but I always considered the R8 to be an exotic, but not a hyper or supercar. The exotics are the first tier or cars above luxury, but not quite supercar territory. I’d say they cover the 130k - 250k price range... After that they usually get super. Any case that’s just my own arbitrary

I went out of my way to find a Gallardo with a manual gearbox. Why? Because I don’t care if the e-gear shifts quicker and goes faster. Its no fun. Do I spend most of the time racing the car and worrying about lap times, nope. I drive it around on weekends here and there and rowing my own is a ton more fun. That’s why

I get that the purpose here was to simulate a street light style race. However, I think they could have taken the time to at least also show us what it looks like when you do a proper burnout and warm up those drag radials. Then make sure to put it in launch mode and not just mash the gas randomly.

You know, I’ve gotten into an argument with myself over things like this before. See, somehow I don’t mind that its not perfect, not authentic, doesn’t really convince anyone that its real. I like it, I think its pretty cool, and I enjoy seeing things like this and appreciating them for their artistic element.

I have the very same feeling. I’m fascinated by them and their freakishness. The music itself sometimes draws me in and other times seems very hollow. Who knows, I guess it depends on the mood and you need to be in some kind of mood to interpret this. I love the visuals in their videos, but I can only have so much of

One other thing comes to my mind as I read this. I know a situation where I’ve been decelerated from about 120 MPH to maybe 5 MPH and while slightly uncomfortable it works well and doesn’t do any damage. While skydiving you wear a harness around your hips and waist area. While it wouldn’t be the most comfortable thing

Yeah, except I really need to proof read my posts... What I meant to say was that the first gen had 3,000 not 300. And the new one was supposed to be more limited. GM definitely wants to crank out the new mid engine sports car in numbers close to the Vette, which can be 30,000 - 40,000 cars a year on good years.

Well the first gen Ford GT did have about 300 copies in the wild, but I believe the current gen was only expected to have a run of 500 if I’m not mistaken. I’m pretty sure GM is aiming at a few orders magnitude larger production numbers then that.

I agree with what you’re saying, but just wanted to throw in there that the new ZR-1 is already Ford GT fast. You have a very good point that the higher end Camaros have been performing at the same level or above the base Vettes. This would be a good step in letting the Camaro take over as the bargain performance

LOL... That’s funny.

Honestly I always liked the way the 8 series looked, but that 320 HP from a V12 was so disappointing it turned me off to the whole car. I could never understand why it was so low, almost as if they detuned it for some maniacal reason. This M8 beast however is perfect in so many ways. The motor sitting in that engine

I like most types of electronica and cool videos. Yet I have the same exact feelings you did regarding this piece of digital excrement.

I think one way to make a hybrid Lambo and keep the weight down is to go for something that’s mostly KERS and less of a traditional hybrid. This way you have a capacitor that allows you to either do an amazing 1/4 mile run, or on a race track charge up the capacitor during braking so the corner exits can have extra

Totally know what you’re saying. I’m just a bit older than you and grew up in the 80's as a kid and my lambo poster was the Countach. While I really like the Gallardo and its successor the Huracan, I can agree that they are somewhat tamed and livable exotics. Taking audi parts bin engineering certainly helped

Wow, they managed to top the Gallardo. I remember the first time I had to do an oil change. I couldn’t believe there were 7 oil drain plugs and who the fuck puts the oil filter in the V of the motor that requires a special tool to unscrew it. To be honest I’ve later found out that you can get almost all the oil out

This is exactly why I would never leave my passport with a rental agency. Especially if I planned on speeding through a foreign country in an exotic car. I realize I may need to leave the country in a hurry afterwards. This is just a case of poor planning. Also not looking at some forums for information about speeding

My CLS also has the massage seats and the inflating “dynamic” side bolsters. Honestly when I’m sitting in it for a long enough period of time the massage gets my lumbar just right to make things a bit more comfortable. I wouldn’t call it an actual massage, but it also does just enough to take it squarely out of the

Thanks for the advice, a test drive is in order ! Also instead of driving like I stole it I usually prefer a slightly nuanced different approach. I drive it like I’m doing a getaway from a bank robbery... I was definitely going to get the CLS AMG 4-matic as well if the CLS was what I chose. I’m done with RWD. It was

I’m curious was yours a turbo? I think the WRX and STi models put a lot of strain on the engine internals. Ring lands, seals, valves, all those engine components that are adversely affected by forced induction seem to be the issue. I also had a friend with the regular Impreza and I believe his experience was similar
