I love Chris Harris. I just wanted to put that out there. If I had to pick one single person whose car review I take into account more than any other by a fair margin, its his. He focuses on what we care about, I believe he’s fair, honest, and actually not partial or biased. Not to mention he can drive like a

I think Porsches have now been ruled out due to overall frunk/trunk space. This will most likely be his only vehicle and something he can’t even do a full grocery shop in, or fit golf clubs probably won’t work. The CL is concerning due to the hydraulic shocks that are known for leaking. The airmatic actually ends up

No problem on the volume of writing, you’ve got good insight. Its interesting that you mention the difference in the leather between Nappa and Dakota, I hadn’t noticed it before. Which is strange because I do usually pay attention to the tactile feel of materials, then again maybe NOT! Now I probably will and as luck

I have never filled up a tank to anything but full. On the bright side I have been using a CC card to fill up for the last 14 years or so and therefore it isn’t an issue. I always wonder about people that fill up $20 at a time. I even have a friend with no money issues whatsoever that does it often. I don’t get it,

Great insight, thanks for the thoughtfull response. I have been pushing my buddy towards the M4 because I also thought it was the most balanced choice. You get the luxury, mid level speed, and great handling. Honestly I would love to say he would do track days or at least auto-x, but he won’t. We also rarely get a

Arlgiht that makes plenty of sense. Fortunately I don’t drive an externally modified vehicle, all my mods are under the hood. In case I even want to stance and slam or whatever else they call it, I’ll watch where I drive it. Which I guess will probably be nowhere since every speed bump could be my last.

What a damned shame. My WS-6 met a similar fate. I got cut off and slammed the right side of my car into a concrete wall. Insurance paid and they fixed it, but it was never right again. Under hard acceleration it always felt shifty in the rear and I couldn’t find out why. I had to sell it. I got a good 115,000 miles

I’m not quite sure that’s 100% right. For example many states don’t have a front license plate law. When you drive said car into a state that does require a front license plate you are not ticketed for this. My buddy has an Ohio registered car that he drives in NJ all the time. We have had cops pull a u-turn when

Ok that makes perfect sense. I hadn’t thought about it that way. I do get about 250 to 300 miles max per tank in my CLS. I guess I consider that pretty good because sports cars I’ve had in the past have been worse. If I had experienced a car that gets 400 miles per tank I might be spoiled for life as well.

Sounds like an amazing experience to have put it together and gotten to rip on it like you did. Too bad the cracked header put you out of business. It might not have been cracked until it got super heated and then maybe a puddle or something splashed cold water on it. You never know how those things happen. I regret

Fortunately I have had some fun cars since then too. I had an
e46 M3 that I didn’t think was fast enough after the Trans-Am, so I ended up supercharging that. Now I have a CLS55 AMG. Torque monster. There was something definitely very special about the WS-6 though. I miss it. I really might get another one some day.

Oh snap, that thing was well worked. Sounds really nasty, wish I could have experienced that beast!!! Mighty ride. Its interesting how the more the years go by the more you miss them. I regret selling most of my awesome rides. The V8 swap must have been devastating with the SC in it!!! Mad torque.

Oh wow, I had an 89’ turbo and it was white. Mine was bone stock though. What kind of mods did you do and any idea what kind of numbers it was putting down? I think stock it was something like 220 HP. I remember the adjustable suspension made for a very smooth ride while handling very well at the same time. I never

Mine was a 6-speed as well and the T56 tranny was a bit notchy but overall a very good row your own experience. I loved the car. I never got to experience the turbo buick or older turbo trans am, but would have loved to. Maybe one day when I finally get a nice large garage and start my car collection I’ll be able to

I drove a Gallardo very fast in Vegas: http://www.exoticsracing.com/ Ever since that day I have been in love. I also drove a 458 and a 430 scud that same day, but the Gallardo was better. I know I’ll probably be alone in that opinion, but its how I feel. I’m currently in a CLS55 AMG, but I think a well used Gallardo

I’ve got to ask you this... I read your whole post and your commentary was all very apropos, except... the fuel economy comment. I currently drive a CLS55 AMG, which on good days sees 13 MPG. I have a good feeling I make and have a considerable amount less money than you, but I never for even a moment consider fuel

Ah yes, the venerable Trans-AM. I had a 2002 WS-6. I had 1 7/8” headers on it down to a 3” collector and a y-pipe with a butterfly valve right under the passenger seat. I had a nice tune on it, but no cams and no cats. The sound that came out of that thing was glorious. Tons of torque and actually handled rather well

I really enjoyed my manual E46 M3 as well, but believe it or not when I had just bought it I thought the handling dynamics were great, but the engine was weak. I didn’t like the torqueless feel and having to crank it between 5-8k RPM all the time to keep it lively. I ended up installing an ESS supercharger on it with

Great question Tavarish... I’ve been on your buying used high end cars plan for a good number of years now. My first was a 2002 X5 4.4, Then an E46 M3, another 2007 4.8 X5, followed by a CLS55 AMG. I’ve loved all of them but never spent more than $33k. However, I’m on schedule to step it up big time. in 2 years I will

I know you get an enormous amount of compliments on your writing, but I’m going to add to the pile... Your particular sense of humor really strikes a chord with me every time. I ALOL (Actually Laugh Out Loud) quite often. My two favorite jems this time around, “In a normal car, such as your Suzuki Verona...” and
