Yes, Poor Kesha, it was embarrassing. I’m not suggesting there are pitchfork-wielding villagers hunting for Jerry’s head, just that it’s gotten more attention than I think it would have otherwise. And Jerry did feel the need to defend his actions. 

The uproar over this feels so much like a double standard. It’s ok to turn down a hug. Can you imagine if an unknown man approached a starlet on the red carpet and repeatedly asked for a hug while the starlet repeatedly declined politely? We’d be talking about a man’s assumption that he can touch whomever he wants.

Murray was the main sponsor on the bill to legalize gay marriage. He was in the senate for years, previously in the house. Say what you want about him as mayor, but he fought for years for anti-discrimination, for domestic partnerships, and yes, for same sex marriage.

Stars are “awarded” by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. Anyone can nominate someone for a star. If the chamber approves, the $30K cost of a star is covered by whomever nominated them ( i.e studio, star themselves, fans)
