It may have appeared that I might have not been doing a whole lot diecast wise lately but behind the scenes, I was working on a 120 car run for my local diecast club. They are FINALLY done and delivered. I can start 2019 with a clean plate! From now on, I’ll be sticking to a run of one or two at a time... HAHA
Consider this a drive by Halloweening. LOL
Busy - it’s my story right now. Should be slowing down soon.
Well... it’s been a while LaLD! I hope all are well. :)
I’ve got a big 90 project right around the corner so I thought I’d knock this one out quick. Someone local asked me to build a clone of her sons first car - a pearl white ‘71 Riviera. Dug through my box of crap and found the ‘71 Riviera hunt. I haven’t build…
Just thought I’d share a build I’ve been working on for a little while now. Designed the tank in SolidWorks and scratch-built it out of styrene. Decided to go with an old AMOCO theme. Right now, the decals are just done in Photoshop. Kind of just a mock-up for the moment. I was going to try and use these wheels but…
Seeing that Custom Candy Striper’s are quite popular now, I figured I’d jump on the same train and build my own. With a little twist of course. Didn’t bother with WIP pics this time - you all know what ZAMAC looks like by now. :)
• Strip Casting
• Clean & Polish Casting
• Spray Candy Pink
• Tape roof stripes -…
Wrapped up a ROAK build for a guy on Instagram this evening. I wasn’t too fond of drilling the Ferrari for the wheels but there’s more of them out there. LOL
I’ll start with the final pic and work backwards with a few build pics.
A little while ago, I was messing around in Photoshop and came up with what I called a ‘Taco Bell Exclusive’ Gotta Go. I don’t think I need to explain the choice of casting... Haha
Quick project over the weekend. Standard mainline ‘63 Nova and some paint.
I’ve got a friend that along with his father and brother are part of a race team. They run 4 cars. For a gift last year, I built a clone of their ‘70 240Z.
This year, I was asked to build two identical cars - a clone of their ‘69 Corvette. Here’s a few progress pics and how it turned out in the end.
Not really diggin’ where this one is going. :( Sometimes it looks better in your head I guess.
Just about finished with my Historics Skyline so I thought I’d share it. I’m still going to paint the base black and finish up the weathering. Here’s a couple shots of what I’ve got. A few details to start and then the weathering.
Messed around last night for a few hours with a different style of weathering technique. I HAD a Mystery Machine laying around so...
I feel that my old style worked OK but it’s a bit drastic to use all the time. Not all cars are total rust bombs.
So LaLD Customizing friends, I stopped by to drop something off...
I’ll leave this here. Your Answer Is Here
I posted these two a little while ago on Instagram. Since they made it to their new home, I thought I’d share some pics here too. Both started out as the red 2016 SRT Challenger and Charger releases. I don’t have any before pics but I’m pretty sure you all know the cars I’m talking about.
Here’s some pics of the…
Came out of my slump and put something together for the Superfly competition.
I don’t buy much anymore but finally got around to picking up a few I’ve been meaning to grab for a while now.
Kind of ironic - looking back on the hobby. I thought some ‘reflections’ would be appropriate. :)
Picked these up from a collector buddy of mine. I remember having the set as a kid back in the early 90s. Hardees... MMmmmmm... LOL
I spent quite some time researching the topic of addiction as well as the fear of missing out (FoMO). It’s a very interesting yet frightening topic when paralelled with the collecting habits displayed by quite a few people. Some don’t even realize how bad it can get...

My good friend Chris Walker and 2 other gentlemen started a company a few years back making a truck they named the ‘Dreamliner’. Here’s a few of them that I have. I think I’ve got a few more colors around here. I’ll have to get them in the studio and shoot some pics.
