I did a lot of driving in that car, much of it long distance highway and would check the speedo against the odometer check points just for kicks so pretty sure it was accurate. Of course I can’t say I ever validated the accuracy of the speedo much above 65mph but it was dead on at 55-60 so I assume fairly accurate…

A 90 3 Cylinder 5 speed Geo Metro can also go over 95mph. The speedo topped out at 85 and then I pegged it (about same distance from 85 mark to peg as 75 to 85) but am convinced it topped out somewhere around 105.

My only hesitation would be the convertible top as it is probably the one part that might cost some money if it needs replacing. It would be nice if it was slightly older and had the 3.1 but the 2.8 is rock solid and at least it isn’t the 4 banger I had in my 1990 RS, lol.
