I’m pretty sure she knew about gun safety enough to know what she was doing would kill her. Teaching someone about gun safety will do nothing when they actually intend to do harm to themselves, except maybe teach them how to turn the safety off.

You should have read the article. This is a Cavalier with Cimmaron Trim/Badging. The 2.8 was a pretty solid little engine, not particularly special, but easy to maintain and work on and pretty darn reliable with basic maintenance.
