No, I think I was given no option but to take the cat on the plane, and expecting the cat to make its own way across the country when I move is irrational.

Honestly though, I don’t blame other people for my allergies and I understand that people have pet birds/down stuffed jackets, etc. I treat my own allergies and

There are multiple treatments available both pre-exposure and during an attack. You need a better allergist or maybe a second or third opinion. I thought my allergies were non-treatable too until I got a fourth opinion and finally found an allergist with a clue.

There are also preventive measures available. I know this for a fact, when was the last time YOU saw an allergist? Thanks for playing.

I know they do. So, sounds like it is even more important to be vigilant, which fits with my original point. If they know the allergic reaction was caused by a dog, they know he’s allergic to dogs. If the allergy is that bad, they need to be on top of it.

The same way thousands of other passengers do every day. It was a soft carrier not a full plastic one. The airline insisted it was the only way to fly him.

Sorry you live in a world where you think people disagreeing is a bad thing, I actually think it is critical. A few angry comments with poor reading comprehension don’t really phase me though, does your life revolve around everyone agreeing with you?

Logical fallacy is false. Your comment is irrelevant.

Congratulations, you said something I and most reasonable humans entirely agree with.

First: I get that, note the *might be exposed* part? It was a comment on how you need to be extra vigilant.

You think allergies are bad? Drown the cat and then you have to deal with PETA.

No, I completely sympathize with the situation. I pointed out that it is an example of why people with allergies need to be ever vigilant and prepared. Honestly it sucks all around, but this is the reality of life with allergies, they don’t

Source: The fact they don’t let you put your pets in cargo unless they are too big to fit under the seat and the fact people fly with pets every day. Also combined with an intimate knowledge of the cleaning practices for modern aircraft.

Different allergies, again, based on the article the child flew later that day, so their allergies are meds-responsive. I fully acknowledge there are people with worse allergies, and for them there are also non-med options. If you haven’t seen a second/third allergist, I’d recommend it. The fourth allergist is the one

I asked to have my cat fly in cargo because I do have allergies (severe allergy to birds, mild to dogs). The airline wouldn’t allow it for small pets and insisted he fly under my seat. So, it isn’t/wasn’t an option, I was told only larger dogs and animals get cargo space because they have reduced the pressurized cargo

That is correct, however based on the fact the child took a later flight and was fine this wasn’t the case here. Every plane today has dog and cat hair in it (dander), they aren’t cleaned that well. If the child’s allergies weren’t responsive to medication, re-exposure would have triggered another attack.

There are

You are an idiot :) I fully support your right to be an idiot, just hope you recognize that the world doesn’t revolve around you, and people do not necessarily do things just to be an annoyance to you.

You are an idiot. I normally would never bring my cat on the plane and have allergies myself, I get it. I specifically asked to have the cat put in cargo BUT THEY DON’T ALLOW IT. I wasn’t going on a vacation, I was MOVING ACROSS THE BLOODY COUNTRY.

Tell you what, find a better allergist and learn to read. I’m not some

So my allergy to birds and history of dog-related asthma attacks don’t count? You have no clue who you’re talking to and need to jump to conclusions a little less.

I manage my allergies and have an allergist who is on top of their game. Your ignorance of treatments does not mean there are no treatments, grow up.

The reaction wasn’t that serious, he got on another flight later that day, where there were certainly still traces of dog/cat in the plane (because they all have traces) which would have set him off again if he had the type of allergy you speak of.

So, no, based on the facts as presented that wasn’t the case.

I don’t have to do reading. I live with them. Thanks for that.

Says the troll to the billy goats gruff... Keep at it winner.
